but you can’t calculate the value of a coin simply by counting the maximum number of coins ever mined.

At the end any currency has no internal value, but gets it by people trusting it and willing to accept it in exchange for goods.

The more places accept FTC, the better the exchange rate to BTC and even fiat will be

It’s not a good one, that’s for sure. Should the client do anything other than act as a wallet? Should is browse the web? Should it read email? Support Paypal transactions? If you said “No” to these, why would you say yes to, “Allow you to buy sex toys?”

This is relevant in case anyone wants to do anything with any FTC related subreddit. If an exchange or store or whatever approaches you to drive traffic from the subreddit to them for kickbacks, [size=36pt]DON’T.[/size] Reddit isn’t the end-all, be-all of websites, but they’ll be a big player for a while at least and to get them to sour on anyone in the crypto community and any projects that they may partake in in the future would be bad news and it’s best to take this situation under advisement, even if it’s not immediately applicable to our current endeavors.

Important:
If you already have coins in your wallet locate the file ‘wallet.dat’ on your system and take a backup of it. It’s in the folder ~/.feathercoin for Linux and containa the private keys needed by feathercoin to extract the amount of coins in your wallet from the blockchain.

If anything goes wrong, you can restore that file.

That is correct, some miners choose to ignore transactions that don’t include fees which can stall your payment. In fact not including a transaction fee when one is required can be dangerous as your coins can get stuck. To get then back you need ‘wallet surgery’ where you have to remove your private keys and reimport them in to a new client. This goes for all cryptos.
