300 FTC bounty for the one that can give me the best cgminer settings
-
Run in administrator CMD prompt:
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1Then:
-I 20 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 22400 --gpu-powertune 20 --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 1500 -
running xubuntu/cgminer 3.3.1
using the litecoin guide which uses:
fglrx-updates/fglrx-amdccle-updates/fglrx-updates-devso as im understanding using the latest version available.
im no linux geek so please dont make me trolling around linux to find stuff:Pwill start to test out one at the time

Have a park of sapphire 7950 cards.
Now i have between 530-570hash pr card. The one that gives me best cgminer settings regarding stability/hash speed will recieve 300ftc :)
It goes to say that the settings need to get my hash above my current state.
try…
-w 256 --gpu-powertune 5 --intensity 20 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 21712 --gpu-engine 1125 --gpu-memclock 1600.
Gives me an average of 2283khahs (570,5 pr card) with jumping from 500-600 up and down=)
My old stat was 2215khash (553,75 pr card) with pretty stable around 550khash.Temp however seems to be lower then previouse, now its 70-76degrees, before it was 77-80

OK. Bump the TC to 22336

OK. Bump the TC to 22336
Gives me an average of 2310 (577,5 pr card), fairly stable with cards dipping down to 500 sometimes.
Temperature stays the same -
ok tc 22400 it is

Those previous settings are Ye olde Faithful but I would also try1115 gpu/ 1500 mem with Thread concurrency 20480, intensity 19, g 1
and setting powertune in trixx at +15% or 20%
That might bump it higher.
I dont have trixx running linux=)
hmm 15-20% what do that equal in power tune -
lol i was supposed to say that i got a mix from both of you that seemed to be excellent.
then this happend:

my entire park down -
averaging 2557 with theese settings.
temp from 73-81.So far you seem to be in the lead=P, will let it run for a while to check stability and/or if them goes way up
EDIT:
hmm i see that the fans are pushing max. thats not good in the long run. i have sapphire 7950 “with boost”: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1157&pid=1841&psn=&lid=1&leg=0 -
Seems D2 takes the victory!
Pushing 1500khash extra from my rigs total. Now i just need to sell my CRAPPY XFX 7970 cards with their mesely 490khash each and change the 7970 with hw error to an 7950 (only rig with mixed cards…).
With those extra 3 7970 cards i will recieve, +two 7970 +1 7950 beeing idle i should be able to go to at least 14mhash.Nutnut im closing in ;D
-
Hmm do seem that fuzzy3 rig do not handle the new settings…
4x 7950
GigabyX58 dh3 motherboard
Intel i7 920 socket 1366
4gb memory
xubuntu 13.04
Seasonic x1250 psu
powered extenders.Any idea what to do?
This rig has done the same before when i pushed it…EDIT:
Forgot to mention, the computer does not crash, only the cgminer hard crash, so i have to remote reboot the computer (headless) -

My money is on a heat related issue. I would try setting fan speed to fixed at least 85% and add a big fan behind the cards and see if it will run stable. Ive had cg miner crashing randomly even though it wasnt showing temps out of the 70s till I put fan speed fixed to at least 85%.
hmm you might be right.
Rotated the 420mm fan a little bit (one fan covers both fuzzy2 and three for a total of 8 cards)
Also set fan-speed to 85% damn that got loud=P, but it seems stable for now -

so no doesnt seem to be due to temp. everything is well cooled -
Too much power draw from PSU? What exactly do you mean by crashed? PC rebooted or cgminer crash
sorry bad explaining. Cgminer is completely frozen.
when i killall the application and try to rerun cgminer it just autofreeze.
not even ./cgminer -n will work.Have to restart computer for it to work again.
And you did check with ps first to make sure it had terminated before you tried to run it again?
It kinda sounds like maybe there’s some driver corruption going on if it was actually killed. Perhaps driver reinstall might help but that’s just me trying to come up with solutions.
checked with ps first and after. it died=)
Its a pretty clean xubuntu install that are identical with all the other fuzzy rigs that works regarding drivers=P
I do however suspect the mobo, put the config back to the old faitfull 550khash and it runs stable again=) -

I was considering buying some sapphire 7950 3l dual x cards. I only have experience with the reference 7950 4l cards. with powertune at 20 would you happen to know how many kw your 4 cards are drawing from the PSU?
i have a 3 rigs on one of my circuit breakers, 4x7950, 2x7950,2x7950 (1xSeasonic x1250, 2x silverstone 850w) it pulls a total of 2750w at socket.
so around 1300-1400 with 4x setup. However the cards are also clocked and pushed high, giving me 650pr card! (not bad for a card that cost 300$). -
On a 20A breaker at 110V you are only supposed to pull 2200 watts. Perhaps your system is suffering from a brownout, and the first components to go are the GPUs? Then once they quit pulling power, you are close enough in spec that the rest of the system avoids crashing, but it’s too late for the driver? Try running it on its own circuit.
in my country we have 220/230v electrisity, which gives me 3520w on each of my 16amp circuit breakers (i have two 100% dedicated to the park, straight from the fusebox to the mining room :P)
