It can run correctly. But it have a error.
When I quit client , it crashes. :-[ I do not know why.
I have been looking at this error and I believe that it is a bug with the GCC compiler. I will update the compiler on the dev system and see if the problem persists.
This is the error you are seeing.

The Github Feathercoin 0.8.5 Source Download got a bit lost, want to add it back to main post.
https://github.com/FeatherCoin/Feathercoin-0.8.5.git
- Also the *.pro file needs editing to be feathercoin not bitcoin for the build names. I’ll get round to raiseing it as issue, sometime…
-
I have now changed the bitcoin-qt.pro file name to feathercoin-qt.pro.
The problem experienced by Lizhi above I am sure is down to my build environment and have asked Ghostlander if he would kindly compile me a binary to compare.

Feathercoin 0.8.5 Windows Beta 2 has been released. If you downloaded Feathercoin Beta 1 then please download and run the new version available from the link below. I expect this to fix the issue experienced by Lizhi.

I have updated the keys for CAlert and tested them on the testnet and mainnet. Everything appears to be working as expected. The client seems to be stable.
I will update one of the DNS Seed nodes to 0.8.5 and see how well it behaves.
-
That seems to have fixed it. I’m reindexing the blocks on the disk, and am 32 weeks behind, with no connections yet. I’ll see how it did in the morning and report back.

Have two instances of the version 0.8.5.0-beta running on one Ubuntu and one Debian systen and both eare running fine and it sync without problems.
Can you please pull again as CAlert keys were changed this morning?
I hope that we have now made the final changes for this release.

You know what we are missing? A multi layered ico file. I have fired up GIMP to create a couple of these, one for testnet and the other for main net. I’m off to my parents for dinner and will finish these off tomorrow. The current ico is 32x32 so looks awful as anything other than a tiny icon.

The build will be ready in about 15 - 30 minutes -
I just resized a larger one. ;)
As it is a png, the quality isn’t good if you shrink too much :( -
I’ve made the .ico files and put them on GitHub. They are 10 layers, 3x 16px, 3x 32px, 3x 48px and a 256px layers of various different types.

I have manually updated the .ts files from Litecoin to Feathercoin. This should be done using lupdate but that then marks the translation as obsolete. These updates have been pushed to GitHub and I have compiled the changes into Beta 3.
https://downloads.feathercoin.com/feathercoin-0.8.5-beta3.zip
For any language where Lite or lite is not in the English alphabet the translations will have to be done manually. Either in the .ts file in a text editor or using Qt Linguist.
I have received the patch file attached to this post for Chinese. Lizhi, can you please check the translations given in this patch file and let me know if everything appears to be okay.

Svenn confirms that this is working in Norwegian. Can others with non-english Windows OS please download Beta 3 and report your findings?
-
You can find the original .ts files in the following location if you want to update translation strings for your locale. Login to GitHub, go to your .ts locale file and select edit, make your changes, give the commit a name and then press the commit changes button. This will submit a pull request that I can commit.
