Feathercoin wallet at feathercoin.com

Hello,
I just downloaded the feathercoin wallet for windows from the feathercoin.com home page. Is this the right move for me as far as a wallet goes for feathercoins? It shows syncronizing with network at about 78,000 blocks left. a newbie question…is that the block chain? If so, it seems to be taking forever. I have ftc’s on btc-e and wanted to transfer them over to this wallet. I tested 100 ftc’s and it has been 20 minutes with no confirmation. does the entire block chain have to be downloaded before my wallet gets credited?
Thank you for any help you can give me. I own a restaurant that takes btc and would like to add feathercoins at this address

Pretty sure you’re going to have to go through the entire block chain before it sees that transaction. The first time will take awhile. After that if you start it up every once in awhile it wont be that bad at all.

Let me ask another question…have you found that feathercoin is more about community than the other cryptocurrencies? Im not trying to put down any cryptocurrency but my first impression seems to be more about community.

The people here are great and everyone is encouraged to get involved. It’s not really about siding on one crypto.
The others are just important and some also have just as strong as a community.But yeah, this a very community orientated coin.
