Yes, there’s no problem with just removing your feathercoin.conf file. The client will start normally without it.

Do NOT remove your wallet.dat file. You will lose your coins that way. They’re in the same directory too, so don’t just delete the directory.

I never have got the client thats in deb package on the Opensuse site working, it pops into USC and allows you to install but never launches or is found.
Hence why I compiled it from source, the instructions included with the FTC source do not work and I had to work it out.

Thanks for your support, Mirrax. It wasn’t bad to mine alone or with a small company at D2’s pool back in October and November until small altcoins exploded. My 4MH/s have brought me over 500K PXC since the takeover and I haven’t sold a single coin of these. When Cryptsy lagged terribly yesterday and suspended trading of many coins including PXC, it was growing nicely to over 500K USD market capitalisation. There are many things to do still. The show must go on! :)

Cryptsy must be the slowest trading platform out there. They lagged terribly on the 16-Dec and removed some coin pairs to balance load. PXC trading has been restored today.

If I’m understanding correctly, you’re asking, “Do you think it makes sense to ask merchants to accept payment in FTC, or is it too early?”. I don’t see what it could hurt in asking, as long as you are being up front and honest in the information you’re giving out. I feel that, if the merchant feels confident in where the coin is headed, is educated in how the process works, and realizes that there will be a great deal of price volatility, they can come to their own conclusion on what to do. The problem I see with merchants is, they have a business to run. Sometimes they have some pretty tight margins and accepting FTC, while it could be great for them long term, might run them out of business short term.

^This. And also, FTC started in April THIS year where BTC started in 2009. There’s no need for hasty decisions or worries about FTC staying far from the big guys. If ‘‘we’’ keep our faith into the coin itself it will just be a matter of time (but not short term) other people trust the FTC as well.

That`s true, but would you spend FTC in that kind of environment. I that environment one would trade, and that is exactly what is happening.

Because the price can swing that much people hold on the currency instead of using it. That`s the sole major issue that somehow needs to be taken care of.

The question you need to ask yourself is. Why don`t you spend the 10 000 coins you have in the marketplace. The answer: Because you are waiting for the value to go up.
