1. This was meant as a general idea, as a community, feel free to change anything/everything
2. Please let me know who is interested in donating. I can get exact costs if there’s interest, it’ll be roughly $100 (I know because I did the original one on the about page)
Meet Feathercoin
A next generation digital currency designed for your day to day financial needs.
Unlike traditional coins such as Bitcoin or Litecoin, Feathercoin incorporates an Advanced Checkpointing System that’s specially designed to protect against 51% attacks.
Advanced Checkpointing works by providing a feed of checkpoints that clients subscribe to. The other clients will pick up this checkpoint and will start rejecting blockchains that do not include the block referenced in the checkpoint.
With the Feathercoin Advanced Checkpointing, attackers are forced to find easier targets that lack this protection.

Excited to see the Advanced Checkpointing System rolling out!
I think we should try to advertise the ACS as more of a beefed up security measure rather than a security “band-aid”. By reading the above, I kind of get the impression that Cryptos are un-safe and highly susceptible to being “attacked”. This is kind of a turn-off to any new user considering the change from fiat to crypto-currency. Personally, I would rather not hear the word “attack” in anything closely related to my money.
So maybe instead of talking about 51% attacks, we can focus more on how we are striving to be the most secure crypto-currency. Bitcoin and Litecoin are secure… With ACP, Feathercoin is the MOST secure etc…
I think we are going to start seeing a lot more non-tech savvy people making the crossover into cryptos and a lot of this technology jargon is pretty hard to digest for the average “noob” entering the crypto world.
My only suggestion would be to maybe try to “dumb” things down a bit.

Agreed. Okay, let’s get some actual script changes rolling. Who wants to start?
