      Guys,

      Been reading these posts with much interest. Can someone boil down for me: bang for buck wasn’t the most efficient way of buying a rig if all you wanted was bare bones mining machine?

        source used parts from ebay, bitmit, or wherever. then buy the GPUs / PSU new. that’s what i did :P

          That is what I did also, Your bare bones without GPU/PSU could in theory cost you next to nothing. You need to speed a few bucks on the PSU, amount and type of card will determine your needed wattage, be it 1000, 1200 or 1500watts.
          The mostly cost bits are the GPU’s, 7950’s can be around £250, €300, $350, depending on brand, location etc. 7950’s are in my opinion best bang for buck.

          Avoid XFX, even if they may will be the cheapest cards on offer.
