Brilliant initiative! 8)
I will sit down and look properly later (struggling to see my damn screen at the minute < Note to self need my eldest to move out so I a can have my PC moved from the conservatory :( ) -
Needs more work. I’ll edit it later and submit for review.
Needs a LOT more work. If you add some lines you increase the chances of the article being accepted.
Also does anyone know who is the creator of the image I’ve used? I ask because I don’t know if it is free to use (creative commons license). It will be deleted soon unless I specify copyright info.
-
Good start though.
The creator of the graphics is NickCoin over at BitcoinTalk. He even says so in his signature :)

I think it may be best to go with a minimal Wikipedia entry as there is less for them to find objectionable.
-
It’s very valuable which introduce FTC to newbies. Good work!
-
Hopefully then we can link it into here
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/List_of_alternative_cryptocurrencies
When I search cryptocurrencies on google, that wiki entry is top of the search, although I would normally use duckduckgo for search,
which first shows
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptocurrency then
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/List_of_alternative_cryptocurrencies. -
FTC cannot be added to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptocurrency until it becomes major, i.e. outruns Namecoin or PPCoin.
I don’t edit en.bitcoin.it/wiki, so I’m leaving this task up for someone else.
JohnsonX, you have submitted the article on Wikipedia for review before I’ve had a chance to edit it, so the attempt failed quite expectedly. You’re new to Wikipedia and may not be aware of their standards.
Someone please contact NickCoin on bitcointalk.org for a written permission to release the logo under an open source licence such as Creative Commons. A vectorised copy will be appreciated greatly. He will be credited appropriately for his work. Would be nice to invite him to our forum, too. If he ignores or declines, we have no choice but to redraw the logo ourselves.
UPD: I’ve tried to edit the article, but ended up writing a new one from the scratch using the article on Litecoin as a reference. A few hours of work, enjoy the result.

Well written.
Should it be:
Feathercoin was announced on the 16th of April 2013 on the Bitcointalk.org forum.
rather than:
Feathercoin was announced on the 16th of April 2013 on Bitcointalk.org forum.
Wow! That is awesome. How did you get that passed so quickly?
Anyway great work.As for the image, how about using the official logo? Is that licensed under creative commons?
EDIT: Just made an edit on the page to see how it looks with the logo. :D
I contribute to Wiki for a long time and know what it takes to please their editing standards. After all, not a big deal.
I decided not to add the logo because of its unclear copyright status. Some of Wiki authorities with attitude may revert your edit. It looks better with the logo indeed. Alright, we’ll see. I’ll keep my eye on the page.

Great job Ghostlander, so if anyone edits on https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/ it would be great to get https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/List_of_alternative_cryptocurrencies sorted.

There’s nothing to stop any one of us from creating an account and adding FTC to the list. I created an account this morning to help with some editing of the Feathercoin article.
Edit: Oh, didn’t see the part about having to pay BTC in order to edit that page. Lame.

This is great. Congratz ghostlander. According to the following we’re among the 5 cryptos that have a Wikipedia page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cryptocurrencies
The only thing is that it’s not showing on google when searching Feathercoin, I guess it’s still just too early. -
Fantastic job Ghostlander.

Edit: now I have :)
