I’m currently experiencing a really weird mining issue. Usually when I mine I get around 150kh/s but after I use the graphics card in any way, play a game for example, and restart mining, the hash rate plummets to around 40kh/s and I experienced severe lag. This is when I have stopped playing the game or whatever.

I can solve the issue by restarting my pc or crashing the graphics card drivers by setting the intensity to 18. The former is just irritating and the latter makes me scared that I’ll break the card or something!

Has anyone else experienced this problem and have fixed it?

(I’m using the latest version of guiminer-scrypt and graphics card drivers 13.1. My card is a Sapphire 7770 GHz edition. The problem persists with reaper and cgminer. 12.8 drivers seem a similar issue)

Ok. A bit of a quick and hacky fix but it works! Maybe the game is still partially loaded into something.

The driver changing something would make sense actually.

I think, may be wrong can’t really remember but after I left it mining for a few days it reverted back to about 150kh/s. I have changed the clock and memory to 965 and 1360 respectively, stock 1000 and 1125 I think, but it’s stable and temps are nice and low.

If I find a solution I’ll post it.

That would make sense. It is Java so I’ll try launching it with a different garbage collector.
The weird thing is I can run the game and mine at the same time. This doesn’t happen with Bitcoin but scrypt is fairly memory intensive so that’d make sense.

Have the same issue on my windows rig.
If i do something else, or i quit/restart cgminer to many times i get this hickup and need to reboot computer or force amd drivers to restart.

            Ive just accepted it=)
