      Hey everyone,

I just got my 7950 running, now im trying to get the juice out of it. With a couple of little tweaks I manage to get it to 620Kh/s in my cgminer, but the pool reports almost 800Kh/s.

Why is this? and who es right?

The reports of your cgminer is the right one. The khash reported by the pool are just estimated only. ;)

The pools calculate the rate evey minute or so based on a number of different stats whereas your cgminer is literally looking at the raw hashrate coming from your cards.

Maybe one of the pool ops here can elaborate on how the hashrate is calculated in mmcfe (or whatever front end they use)?

Pools calculate your hash rate based on actual shares submitted. If you hit a lucky streak, the pool will think you’re hashing faster than you really are. CGMiner is correct, in that that’s your actual hash rate. The pool is correct to, in that that’s the rate you’re actually finding blocks at. So really, both are right… in the moment. Give it 10 minutes and refresh the pool: I’m betting it will come down to be closer to your actual hash rate.
