      Hey guys,

I’m working on my milk case rig. The extenders I bought were too short to add the 4th card.

      1. Is there a cable length limitation?
      2. Does anyone have a link for a site that has longer cables. We’re trying to go roughly 8 inches from motherboard to card.

        amazon catch all search:

            Hi,

            The limitation is 30cm/12in, unshielded.

My company, BuyAHash is working on a pre-order for the 30cm PCI-E powered risers, if you’d be interested in any. Due to them being a pre-order (and taking 3wks to take stock), they’re just $5 for unpowered, or $8 for powered - either 1x or 16x style.

And I’ll gladly take FTC, too @ 10c per FTC, if you’re interested.

We have a lot of other stuff in stock if 'ya need it. Trying to assemble an exhaustive list of miner supplies, and keep them in stock.

If you have spares you should get away with daisy chaining them. Obviously a purpose built jobby is preferred.

As for max length, due to the low bandwidth you can get away with pushing the limits fairly easily. I was running 3x15cm daisy chained for a short while and it seemed ok.

I had the same problem with my fourth card, so I just joined two cables together and it worked fine, but I hear sometimes that if the cables are cheap they just burn out straight away.

None at all. The bandwidth required for mining is minuscule. Wouldn’t want to try playing crisis though! ;)
