I read across different forums ftc mining has a difficulty problem since april?
If yes, why and what are devs doing to find a suitable solution?

      Thx alot

FTC does not have any problems. We are working on optimizations to make a better crypto currency.

FTC did have mining difficulty problem back in May, when difficulty went really high (above 180) and almost everyone stopped mining it, the block chain got staled and Bushstar had to do hard fork to adjust difficulty to meet low price on exchange.

There is still an issue with miners jumping between the 3,000 alt coins using scrypt and causing the network hashrate to plummet when the diff increases. I’m not sure much can be done about this until the diff/price increase enough to make it more stable.

I know moving FTC to BTC-e takes a long time with their 100 confirms when the diff has gone up, but not so long when the diff drops down.

Sites like coinchoose have certainly changes the landscape. Difficulty adjustments are similar to religious talk, everyone has their truth. We have a couple of ideas in the hopper (especially with the new partnership), I’ll know more when Bushstar gets back.

In my opinion, it’s not just the endless coins, it’s still the IT/IS crowd running these miners. I’d like to make it attractive for the casual gamer and weekend gambler to add a little hash to the mix. I’ve talked about an app with NutNut, still hashing out ideas. Get it… hashing… he he he he … ok, that wasn’t really that funny. :)

In April, everyone and their mom was jumping on the brand new shiny coin. Less than 3 months later, that landscape is already starting to change. As we continue to add value with our partners, we we will have an easier time at higher difficulty because of the overall value.

                Groan… ;)

Good to know you’re looking at such things. We need the small miners as well as the big.
