Triad Mining Pool
-
Just had an idea and thought I’d toss it out there to see what everyone thinks.
Now that FTC/WDC/PXC have announced a partnership which I am calling The Triad just for fun, why not do something revolutionary that affects the mining community and also helps the cause for all 3? I’m thinking we develop the first triple currency mining pool, which would solve the following issues:

Be an official mining pool for miners to trust - could be “non-profit” where any fees go only to operation of the pool. Right now, trying to find a decent pool for each currency is a gamble and takes a lot of research.

The active dev community would be a great tool for continually improving the mining pool website/tools/charts. It could quickly become one of the best mining pools out there as long as it listens and implements suggestions from the community. Right now pools are very generic and few offer decent features for miners.

One pool server could hand out blocks for all 3 currencies. This would combine hash rates for transactions (helps the currencies) and award miners all 3 currencies at once (helps the miners).

This might also allow a pseudo “load-balancing” of currency hash-rates. If PXC is low on hashing power, the pool hands out more PXC blocks to help speed up transactions, for example.

This could also help protect against attacks…if a certain currency is getting 51% attacked, the pool could switch to emergency mode and devote all hashing power to thwarting the attackers and regaining control of the blockchain.
Keep in mind I’m not a pool op, so I have no idea if any of this is possible or how hard it would be to implement. If you have more knowledge about that area, please feel free to critique! I also apologize if someone already suggested this, but I did a search and did not see this particular idea presented. People have called for official pools or a pool rating system, but with the Triad announcement we have a unique opportunity to combine several ideas.
Thinktank donations if you like this idea:
FTC: 72wapbdSNcbEkXgPWFvMGEEswpabY5YH2v
WDC: WVD4quycpizCDbUcsicYghZcTR8rEEkK9u
PXC: PaFFV7hpJsk1piSZHCGMA6nTc5UnEMUd3e -
I’d definitely go for such a thing. It’ll keep my coins balanced as well as help all three communities. Only thing about it is worrying about it getting too much of the hashing power since it would probably be popular, so you’d probably have to have a few different pools running the same scheme.

There are a few multi-pools already in existence. I don’t use any but a good feature would be a choice to configure your own ratio. 50% FTC. 30% PXC, 20% WDC… Of course with cgminer you can setup load balance, round robin, or rotate…
I haven’t found a wdc pool I trust yet but I have a miner on pxc and dgc…

I hate to be this guy, but here goes:
Solution is being planned to focus around mining the 3 coins. We’ve been busy… I need another break. lol
I’m on their pxc pool but not sure I like it. I’m use to seeing an overview of daily coin average plus all transactions concerning me, donation and fee transactions included. Also, that pool has quite a bit of hash associated with it. It’s probably ok but stability of a coin also depends on someone not having over 51%… Yeah I know… I’m difficult to please and nitpicky.

I am planning to set up a pool for pxc and wdc soon, but it will be individual pools not a system such as the opening topic suggests.
I’ll be ok with that… I’m on your ftc pool…
Guess I should feel honored that I satisfied your requirements on an FTC pool :)
I have push the pools live:
http://pxc.d2.cc
http://wdc.d2.ccNo SSL support yet. Accounts are unique on each pool so you’ll have to make a new one for each.
Sweet. I’ll get my lil miners on board.
After I finish up getting my goal with the coin I’m currently on, I plan on splitting my resources among the three… That said I’ll probably be mining in your pools haha. Would there be away to link the miners from the three separate accounts on to one page so I can easily check which of my miners are running properly, rather than having to go into each separate site to view my miners for each coin?

Not until I build a single front end to handle all the coins but I’ll implement inactive miner notifications soon.
Oh cool! It’ll be great to see that once it’s finished.

If you are pxc mining please join this pool…
I was going to but then noticed it’s stratum only… I mine with guiminer and for 1/2 my miners, mining with stratum causes the device driver to stop working when using the exact same options that work fine when not using stratum :'(
I use cgminer and pooler-miner(3.2 supports stratum). It’s one of the reasons I like d2’s pool.

Edit: Ooops, I closed the wrong tab, I thought I left the tab with your pool thread opened and responded to the wrong thread. Reposted there, sorry!

This is exciting.
