PCIEx1toPCIEx16riser vs. PCIEx16toPCIEx16riser

I see you guys using more expensive MB with 4 PCIEx16 slots and [b]PCIEx16toPCIEx16[/b]risers.
What is the reason?
Why aren’t you using cheaper MB with 2PCIEx16 and 2PIEx1 slots (for example) and [b]PCIEx1toPCIEx16[/b] risers instead? -
IMHO it’s not about the PCIe slots, rather the quality of the Mobo.
As for the risers, i’m in the process of swapping all of mine for 1x -> 16x to help with airflow.
Bottom line - it matters not what you use, there’s no more hashes to be had on a 16/16 or an expensive mobo. I’m just happy with the quality and bought better Mobo’s so i can re-purpose them later or sell for higher value on fleabay.

From now on i will not skimp on mobo purchase, earlier ive only bought as cheap as possible with as many slots as possible, 16x or 1x alike…
4 are RMA´d, buying quality do pay off in the long run. -
Maybe with enough demand one of these motherboard companies could be commissioned to build our dream board with a tiny footprint, couple of USB, 6x PCIEx 1x, no SATA or IDE, strip down to the barebones. Hell, even skip processor and socket and stick an integrated in there. Die cut holes throughout board to allow fans to mount under the board to blow heat upwards.
