BFL's newest genie
-
Oh I know, but it’s nice to dream. :) I have ordered a couple of little boxes from them, but who knows when they will arrive. Still they have the right idea. They may fall short of their goals, but they have certainly helped stimulate this market.
-
If you need somewhere to go to get concept drawings and press releases BFL specialise in delivery those.

Lol. Love how they keep announcing new preorders when they are still shipping preorders from 2012. Also, doubtful they could ever pull this off. Their current 500gh mini rig (originally promised at 1.5 Th) is just a giant box full of singles. ::)
Are they actually shipping them or is it just a small group that has “gotten one”?
Forget it and BFL. Cointerra advertises 500GH/s per chip available by the end of this year.
Cointerra just released their specs and price. Its a 2TH miner with 4 500gh goldstrike chips for 15,750$ for december delivery. Unlike BFL they have a lead cpu architect from samsung as well as some other top engineers. In my opinion they will probably deliver the goods but I doubt 2TH will be worth it in Dec.
That’s why I don’t advise to pre-order them now. Prices on ASICs must fall once the market is saturated. People were selling Avalons for $20K to $30K each just two months back. Now they go at 10% of this price.
-
The ASIC market is catching up to the computing market rather fast in terms of die size. Went from 110 nm to 2x nm in a year, we wont see huge jumps hash rate this time next year but rather higher efficiency and super low cost compared to ASICs of today.
-
Also, unless BFL lowers the power consumption under 200 watts on these cards, people will have to build rigs just like they do with GPU’s now. They will be too hot to stack on top of each other, but maybe BFL will expose clock and voltage regulation like it was a GPU.
Heh, that was well done.

Just give me your money and I’ll take a dump in a pretty box and get it to you a lot faster. It’ll be worth the same b/c when these actually ship, if ever, you’ll never see your ROI.
