How to get new interest...? Feed Back Request Please :)

Hello :)
So, we’ve been thinking of ways to attract students in for a meet up. I think having students attend a meet up would be great where ever we hold a meet.
So, If you’re a student or have been a student - what would make you attend a meet up…?
Secondly, I will be attending a student freshers fair, would like to give them something with our name on it - silicone bracelets or badges…? ?
If you have met someone on these forums and that person is local to you I would also like to encourage a meet up in your area? ?
Thanks for your ideas guys :)

I don’t think we have really attacked the gamers forums yet. Especially the MMO fields. I’m sure there are a few of us who have old guilds we could approach and snowball it from there.

Also, if someone could make an effort to suggest any of MMO game developers to accept FTC for microtransactions…that would mean FTC would be worth 5$ for sure, but this is going to be extemely hard - they all prefer real cash. Maybe if someone would explain to them that this way they will reach customers who usually don’t buy anything… Legal stuff is another thing that might prevent such companies to accept any crpyto…
Geoff we talked about this at the first meet up, remember I told you about ‘Steam Bits’ - Its Steam where you can purchase Steam games for Bitcoin, maybe they’ll accept Feathercoin too…? ?

Will look in to this this week when I get 5 minutes, getting FB back up to speed and then solving other issues and real work (OMG).

Free food. I liked imineftc’s approach with the free pizza.

People like the food idea and beers :)
Will look into it.
Thanks for your input :)
No Boobies Im afraid.

To take up the point on ‘boobies’ I do think women are very underrepresented in the crypto currency space and anything we can do to be more welcoming to all members of society would be a plus.
But the boobies should remain underneath clothing for the purposes of Feathercoin related activities. 8)

This is a suggestion I messaged Justabit a while back, but I guess he’s been busy and hasn’t gotten back to replying about it lol.
Hey John,
Long time no talk! Haha, hope all is well with the projects you’re working on.
Anyways, when you have time to read over this (it’s not all that long either), I have an idea for a publicity contest for Feathercoin. This contest would probably take place once Feathercoin grows a little bit in terms of being more accessible, so once CoinMKT is released for example and when there’s a payment system for it created or added already.
Also, I would think having an “About” page that’s a little more newbie-relevant/useful is a good idea before doing this as well. And what I mean about a newbie-relevant “About” page is having some basic info introducing Feathercoin to someone who’s never heard of virtual currencies, and then has links that directs them to areas such as: more in-depth info on Feathercoin, how to use Feathercoin, how to get Feathercoin, how to mine Feathercoin, etc. The goal of this contest would be to have people check out Feathercoin, so we should make it easy for them to find a reason to stay or dig deeper.
Okay, so the actual contest part is this. Everyone’s account should have their on reference link that redirects to the “About” page for Feathercoin. This link can obviously also be converted to a QR code. So what I was thinking is we could do a contest that either rewarded the top referrers to the Feathercoin site, or rewarded everyone based on how many people they referred. Everyone’s referral count would be restricted to +1 count per unique IP address to visit through their link. If you were to reward everyone based on individual referral counts, you could do something like 1 FTC per 10 referral count or something to that degree.
I think this would be a great way to bring in some more people especially once we’re at the point of being more user friendly. There’s just so many ways this can increase our publicity. Just the QR code for example. People can make a decal to put on their car, post it in bulletin boards in public areas, tattoo themselves with it (lol), put picket signs of it in random areas, put it as an ad in the newspaper, put a leaflet under car windshield wipers, wear it as a t-shirt, etc. Plus they have the URL to they can use online at forums and social websites.
But yea, that’s my idea haha. Figured I’d be safer messaging it than posting it publicly so any zombies from other coins don’t grab the idea first if they haven’t though of it before.
Cheers!
