Help with mining please
-
Hi, So I just started mining but I am a massive newb. I followed the video on this forum to every last detail. Except for providing my own work and username I am mining on a windows 8 intel core, which is not the best for mining I know and I am using coinotron. I know this will take a while due to the slowness of my computer but when it started mining on my reaper mining it said 1… done, and then it says connecting and 0 shares accepted it is taking forever. Am I just being impatient or is something wrong? Here are my screenshots of the mining program I am running

I’m confused on what you’re trying to mine with. Just your processor or thr gpu on the processor? Either way set the thread concurrency to 0. The worksize to 64 and the intensity down to 64. If this is just for the procrssor I wouldn’t really both set it to whatever video card you have. Besides this I am not to good with guiminer.

What I found on http://sourceforge.net/projects/scryptguiminer/:
FAQ Q: How do I use the stratum proxy? A: Enter the host and the stratum port and click start. It should announce that the proxy is connected. Then, point your miners at host: localhost, port: 8332. Run your miners as normal; you should see shares/hash rates reported. Also note that cgminer has its own stratum support built in. To use that instead, select “Yes” for Use stratum in the miner tab and point the miner directly at the stratum port of your pool.
I would try to use the cgminer built in stratum support, rather than the stratum proxy…
I tried using the built in stratum, same thing happened. Took forever to connect and still isn’t mining

May be a stupid question:
ever tried to use another pool?
ever tried to use cgminer or bfgminer directly?
Both are command line utilities and can be started with minimum set of parameters on the command line.

Or try ‘ScryptMiner GUI’ it’s a CPU miner:

Don’t know if it supports stratum tho…

Some thanks for all of y’all help but the problem was that with coinotron the worker I programmed to mine was actually mining litecoins so it didn’t connect. I sorted that out, and have been mining. Is this screen normal?
