Hello FTC!
-
Ok I tried that.
When I pressed start it says.
“Miner failed to start. Make sure you have minerd executable and libraries in the same directory as feathercoin-qt.”
-
Ah :-\ I’ll have a think its a setup issue I’m sure.
-
I’m going to keep reading and looking into it, I would really like to get into a pool :-\
I guess I’ll just let it run solo for now and maybe i’ll get lucky. Really would like to say I own some FTC!! lol

When I open CGminer this is what I get…

D2 your the man!
I think I’m making progress.
I got to this screen…

Hi theskydiver !
Hey, I’m a newbie in this field, but I have the experience of a full week trying to make it work with my mac.
If you look at my thread just before yours, you will see that at some point I was in the exact same situation as yours !
Now you’re not mining, your gpu is not active ( first line, all 0s ).
To change that, what work for me but I don’t know why was to type “-w64” on the first screen you posted.
BUT, that didn’t help me much, because after that I was mining in M hashes instead of K hashes. Then, if you check my thread you’ll see that it finally worked adding “–scrypt” on the first screen.
Bottom line, my experience on mining with a mac : I just ordered a mining rig !
Because if you make it work now, following my calculation, at 0,8 k ashes/sec, you are going to get your first feathercoin in a little less than a month, but for that you’ll have to let your mac run full power 24/7 (ruining it) and spend 7$ on electricity ( so 1500$ of mac+ 7$ electricity = 14cts of feathercoin) . It is a huge bummer that mining with a mac doesn’t work, but that’s the way it is.Anyway, welcome to the cryptoworld, I hope I could help you a little with what I experienced a week ago.

Hmm… So what did your start up code look like.
I can only get it to launch if I type it like this.
-o stratum+tcp://pool.d2.cc:3333 -u Steelycombus.1 -p miner
-
Before my problems to make it work, I was just pressing “continue” without typing any code.
Then, seeing that the gpu didn’t work (all 0s), I started looking around for commands.
The one that worked for me (and I have no Idea why, really typing without understanding) was “-w64” then press “continue” and it worked : I had my gpu working, but mining in the bitcoin way (Mhashes/sec). So to fix that, I got it working (just tonight) by typing “–scrypt” in the command line then pressing “continue”.As for the pool setup and username, I did it at the time in the software (p for pool management, then A for add, then filled the requested : pool address, username, password).
I would recommend you to read my thread closely, as I think the advice I got from the guys here were pretty precise.
I’m just trying to help a little, but I don’t know sh.t about it. I’m just telling you what worked for me.But again, my sincere advice is for you not to get crazy with making it work, as the results are going to be close to nothing. I don’t say that to discourage you, I’m just trying to make you have a better week than I had last week (freaking out for not making it work, and then see that the speed you get is so low, that you’d be better mining for real)
Well, hope you make it work.

Ok, have an update. Still trying to get my first FTC coin!!
I had to switch to a lower version of CGminer. (3.7.2)
The startup code works with the -w64 at the end.
However, if I start it up with the --scrypt at the beginning I get and error. I think I’m going to try an older version of CGminer who knows maybe that’ll work…
Edit to add screenshot of error… (same error even though I tried this one in version (3.5.0)

+1 rep for drumamat for helping others.

D2,
I added the cuda toolkit, and drivers.
Still have the same error message.
It’s just weird that it seems to work just fine if I leave out the --scrypt command, but if I add it to the start command line it crashes.

cgminer hardly takes advantage of the cuda toolset :(
You need to use cudaminer in order to get best results for your Nvidia card
