      1500W for 3x 280x?

      I bought a 1000W for 2x 280x leaving room for a third one. I hope I’ll be allright?

        1000w is more than enough if it has 12v single rail or enough Amp pr rail if multirail.

        That Enermax Maxrevo is multirail with 20A pr rail. so it works.
        i do however recommend powered risers cause the 24pin contact is crap and will burn if you draw all the extra necessary power from there to the pci-e interfaces

            Each 280x use 250 watt and im planning to have 4 or 5 once i get the risers in, so just future proofing :D
            I was originally going for the Lepa 1600 watt because it is only 250 euro but it is sold out everywhere in Paris. I got the Enermax for 315 which is not bad.

                yes you can connect an 1x-16x extender between mobo 16x and gpu 16x:)

                  you wouldnt wanna go over 4x cards on that psu, even if its rated for 1500w…
                  in theory it should not be a problem. but i own an maxrevo and have tried in RL.
                  hence why the psu overheated/melted and destroyed one card.

                  i have to spit each time i hear that brand:P

                    I have the Enermax Platimax 1500W(250-300watt per card x5 is too dangerous I agree), ill heed your warning and keep to 4 once i get my hand on some risers. What other brands PSU do you have? Im looking at the LEPA1600 PSU as well.

                      seasonic x1250 (alternative the xfx black 1250 which is the same psu with different fan)
                      i will never buy anything other than seasonic! awesome psus
                      delivers 1248w on single rail 12v.
                      have runned 4x7970 for an half year now and it has never failed.(have 4of those psus, and 1 xfx, the xfx is more noicy, go figure since its the only thing they replaced was the fan… XFX showing their shittyness)

                      power consumption is about 1350w on AC side.

                          The problem now from my experience in France is not getting your hands on R9 280x (there are plenty… just got 2 more from ruedecommerce.fr for 229 each), instead trying to get a 1000+ PSU :(

                            This is the website for the PSU. Akasa 1000watt. The website tells me 83A on the 12v rail. Am I correct?

                            Will this thing power 3 R9 280X Vapor-X’s?

                            My calcs tell 3x250w leaving 250 watt for the i5 3570K system which should be perfect right?

                                Im coming in to Paris maybe on wednesday to Rue Montgallet and visiting the chinese shop… One of the owners told me they might have some LEPA G1600W and is willing to hold some for me if she gets any :D.

                                I also got 2 of the 1000w from Akasa from grosbill and its arriving tomorrow but no riser so I cannot test 3 cards yet… waiting for my order from HK to deliver.

                                  So you plan on using 3x R9 280X on a 1000watt akasa PSU?

                                  I have 3x R9 280x Vapor-X and an Akasa 1000w too. But I havent used them together yet, not sure if enough Wattage!

                                  Im currently stuck between getting a fourth R9 and a second 1000w to build 2 rigs in 2 computer cases that both got 2x R9

                                  Or just building a rig using 3x on a 1000w, because this summer they wont be able to run in a case anymore, way too hot
