XFX R9280x anyone running? What kind of rates?
-
1080/1500 seems to be the sweetspot for 7970/280x
At least the cards i have tried.HOWEVER if the XFX 280X is anywhere near the old XFX 7970 your shit out of luck, cause that card sucked! The max i could get out of my two xfx 7970 was around 600 each, And after one month all the fans failed (their “hydro” bearing stuff is pure garbage)
I will never buy a XFX brand gpu again! Im also guessing that others follow this as well given that ALL 280X cards are completely sold out everywhere, except xfx that is even “downpriced” atm cause they cant get rid of them, theres plenty of them available.

With the settings above, i’m getting 730 kh/s on my ‘old’ XFX HD7970 :p

Try engine 1050 mem 1750 thread concurrency 8192 gpu-threads 2. HAve a 7970 but maybe it works for you.
I have the same XFX 280x mentioned in this thread. Tried the settings in the quote, things went boom and computer restarted so that was a no go.
Currently I’m also getting 600 flat from my xfx. Don’t want to tweak to much right now either since I can’t hard-restart my farm remotely at the moment.

What intensity?
then you have one of the few early XFX that is outside of their mainstream versions:)

What intensity?
7970/280X should allways be i 13, higher throws hw error and is no point.

I’ve got my suspicions that the card can actually run stable on higher clocks, and push out around 700 if one play around a little with the volt settings. However, the win in this can be discussed as the card will cost more power that it might be worth.
As for me, I prefer a stable 600 from that card rather than 700 that crashes on me all the time :)
Thanks. I’ll try that. Seems odd running the engine clock lower than stock though. (1080)
Lucky me :D. I also flashed it with a sapphire bios i believe.

thread concurrency is 8192 as in my post, worksize etc is all default.

A friend of mine made a few tweaks to my cards and got them above 700Kh/s
I=13, gpu=1000, mem=1500, gpu threads=2
Everything else is stock. These cards are Very temperature sensitive, the more cold air you can get on them the higher the hashrate. -
I have 2 x XFX R280X on my second rig. For what they cost I’m quite pleased with the performance.
These are stable and can be undervolted.
Achieving just short of 700Kh/s with no HW errors. From what I can see they delivery no more if you clock the gpu beyond 1000.
As above:
I=13, gpu=1000, mem=1500, gpu threads=2
Running at 72 degrees. Luckily the ambient air temp in my garage is fairly low around West Yorkshire at this time of year.
I have mine running in my upstairs office which has no hvac ductwork so it tends to be cooler anyway. (North Central US)
Today I finally got around to setting up some flexible 4" PVC drain pipe running along the wall behind my desk so that it is closed under the inside window with an old computer case 4" fan drawing cold air (5F-20F) into the pipe. I have styrofoam taped up tight to the window to close the gap but let a couple inches open on the opposite end so warm air can be drawn in to mix with cold air. The at the output end of pipe I have another small 4" desk fan drawing the cool air out and directly onto my two cards.
This is a temporary solution to keep temps lower until my riser cable arrives. I am now getting a minimum of 1390KH/s with many rises of 1440-1480KH/s for the two cards combined.
I’ve been mining with give-me-coins.com
