How to check if what you mine is what you get paid ??

I’m currently mining with cgminer on Linux at give-me-coins.com and I wondered how to check that what i’m mining i’m also getting paid out ?
What to look for, number of shares or something else ?I did mine at fcpool.com but noticed it took very long between every payout so i switched to give-me-coins.

I’m mining FTC with give-me-coins. You really have to do a full 24 hrs mining and then check your balance for whatever coin you’re mining (this is true for any pool). The estimates you see under STATS > RANKINGS are just estimates. The only real way to see if you’re getting what you expected is to wait 24hrs and see what you have. Make sure you give enough time for all rewards to be confirmed as well.
I know it’s not the best, but I found there’s no real way to determine exactly what you’ll get. Even the dashboards themselves can cause a bit of frustration as sometimes your rig will show that you’re mining at, let’s say, 1MH/s but the pool dashboard might show only .5MH/s as it has an update frequency and calculation that might not reflect what’s actually going on in the pool itself.
You have to give each pool a chance to prove whether it’s worth your while or you’ll constantly be jumping from pool to pool with no satisfaction. I’ve spent 24 hours on a pool for GoldCoin once that promised 500 GLD/day. After 24 hrs I’d gotten about 30 GLD. I was f*****g p****d off I can tell you!
Give-me-coins has not disappointed though. Estimates are almost exactly in line with actual rewards (and I love the colour schemes as well!) :D

Okay, so I guess theres no real ‘proof’ .
Only by running the pools own calculator and comparing the output with the 24 hours ‘yield’ will give some information about it ?Is there something i can see on the cgminers (php) interface how my system is performing ?
I’ve read the rejected percentages should be between 0 and 5% for a good performing system and temperatures between 75 and 85 degrees but thats where my knowledge ends.I’d like to learn more though about the whole system in detail ;-)
