\[Solved\] Hardware Errors... are any acceptable? \* Sometimes
-
Hi,
I just started mining with my new GPU (Gigabyte r9 280x) and I am getting 730Kh/s, however after about 3 hours of mining I noticed I have a value of 66 next to ‘HW:’. I read elsewhere that these are hardware errors. Should this always be 0, or are a few errors acceptable every now and then?
Also is there any way to reduce the number of hardware errors. Below is the code I am using:
-I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8128
Thanks

What pool are you using? You shouldn’t get any HW errors at all
-
I am using the d2 pool (pool.d2.cc.3333)
Although I get the same occurring when I try other pools and a much larger number on other alt-coins.

That would have something to do with your config. What about --thread-concurrency 8192?
-
I’d say as long as you’re below half a percent you should be ok. Sometimes things like heat, bad configs etc can cause them.

[/quote]Thanks. That seemed to fix it, getting a similar hashrate with no HW errors now.

Nice :D

Hey guys !
I take advantage of the topic to ask my question :
I’ve been mining for a little more than a month now. After tweaking my rig, I wouldn’t get any HW.
And tonight, without changing anything : 53 HW (on 2500 Accepted)What is happening ? Are my 7950 frying ? (temps are ok, hottest at 72)
What can I do ?
I didn’t change any spec, any pool, anything…
Thanks for your insight
