Pool Mining Efficiency all the same?
-
Well… i’m not sure…
I was also curious if different pools provide the same efficiency.
So what I did some days ago is split up some of my hashing power and divided it over 2 different pools.
7.59MH/s on give-me-coins
7.92MH/s on wemineftcHere are the results sofar:
01-01: wemine: 108 - giveme: 148
02-01: wemine: 145 - giveme: 169
03-01: wemine: 116 - giveme: 119
04-01: wemine: 133 - giveme: 159
05-01: wemine: 124 - giveme: 159
06-01: wemine: 95 - giveme: 112 (@18:00)So whats ‘happening’, while give-me is feeded with lesser hashing power it still outputs more FTC (included 1% fee) per day…
I will keep this running for a week to get some better ‘results’…Update 06-01:
I have to stop the ‘test’ because of some changes we are going to make to the rigs.
This means that both pools won’t receive an ‘even’ share anymore so it’s not fair to compare the yields.
At this time I would say that wemine is most of the time 15% behind give-me in yield => lesser coins per day.
I’m not sure if this will even out on a longer term.
Apart from the lesser yield i’ve noticed that the auto payout, both set on 50, takes much longer at wemine then on give-me.
I’m not sure why that is, auto-payout means auto-payout in my opinion. -
suprising results.
Keep posting results.

I just started mining a few days ago and selected weminefitc as my pool. The first 3-4 days the “luck” percentage was really low, although I did not realize it at the time. However in the last 3-4 days it has increased so I guess its just something to keep an eye. I really don’t have any comparison since I am just getting started. I just assumed that all the pools would basically be the same, except for the manner that the payouts are calculated, fees, etc.

The first days are always ‘slow’ because of the PPLNS payout scheme but should settle after 3 days.
You can use the calculator with your own hashrate and keep that figure in mind when comparing daily yields.
In my case with current difficulty it should be somewhere between 146 - 152ftc per day per pool. -
The results sofar are very much surprising.
At this time the wemineftc pool is almost 17% behind the give-me-ftc pool over a (almost) weeks time and seems to have a much lower efficiency indeed.
I’ll keep it running for another two days and see where it ends. -
+rep for the continous updates. Rly appreciated ;)

Oh well, wemine having hard time staying stable, why is that :'(
I saw a block found by 1000000+ shares few days ago. :o
It’s all about luck, it will even out eventually. If you want constant payment go to a PPS pool like nut2pools
What do you mean by a ‘constant payment’ ?
I am currently using coinotron and monitoring, currently getting about 40 coins in 24 hours with x3 280’s t around 2100KH.
Does nut2pools pay out in FTC or BTC ??
Thanks

how go the comparisons so far

I had to stop them, see previous post:
