I’m a newbie so hoping some of you can give me some advice. I converted a bunch of bitcoins to feathercoins and they are currently stored on btc-e.com. I am not really keen on having them stored online and would prefer to store them offline. I have installed the feathercoin client on my macbook air, not for the purpose of mining but for having a pc based wallet. The ease of backing up to my dropbox is also another reason. The two questions I have are:

      1. is this the right approach to take?
      2. I don’t intend to mine from my macbook air but mining is an inherent part of the client. Can I simply disable the mining side of the client and simply use it as a wallet?

Mining is off by default. You have to actually start it.

It’s there because it was still possible to mine by CPU.

We may use it for exchange mining in the future.
