    Is creating a faucet a good idea ?

      Hi everyone,

      New around here, I come from the dogecoin side of cryptocurrencies, and I created dogefaucet.com.

      I was wondering if a feathercoin faucet would receive any support from the community here, all the ones I found on Google are dead right now. Running a faucet requires help from the community, has it is not profitable strictly speaking, ads help pay for hosting and time spend working on the website, but coins have to come from the community.

      So what do you think, would you give coins yourself to help the website ? Let me know.

      PS: To give an idea, dogefaucet.com received in is little month of existence more then 300k dogecoin has donations, which represents around 400USD at the moment.

        Looks like feathercoin community does not like faucets…

          It’s a busy forum, lots to read. Sorry we missed this. FTC needs a reliable faucet, since I don’t think one currently exist. I link to few, but I’ve never seen them actually work. :-\

              Yes, but currently I’m holding less than 5 FTC.

              I have far more DOGE. ;)

                I can’t donate, as minimal mining and maximal help on Feathercoin forum.

                Also there are so many suggestions this “suggestion” is more a Main Feathercoin discusion thread topic, than hidden down here…

                If you want I can move it to Feathercoin discussions?.

                There are definitely members that have asked for a faucet. You could also publicise it it in “Your ideas for Feathercoin”, and see if you get voted up. Its a new niche area(new ideas), but things are moving so fast and I think you would be the first faucet idea.

                Also, the ideas are there for people to see what they could do.

                I certainly haven’t had good experience with other faucets, so when I saw your post (first time) it wasn’t a priority to respond.

                In another way you are right, I think we are looking at other ways, and members have been generous in developing ways, to spread coins as a currency.

                I know my first incentive to join Feathercoin was the SMS payment system proposed by UKMark, so that African or 3rd world countries could have access to non hyper inflationary world currency. I see that would make the world better for us as well.

                However, the more you study crypto currency the more interesting it becomes, getting coins out to the less technical, testing the new wallet, I can see how a faucet could help.

                      Wrapper: Thank you for your post, might try one of those, or i might also create the faucet directly, have a few projects going on already so might take a few days.
                      Estrabd: Did you looked at [url=http://www.dogefaucet.com/faq]dogefaucet.com’s FAQ[/url] ? The point it to make the currency more accessible to new users by allowing them to get a few coins easily.

                      Edit: wrapper moving the post to feathercoin discution is a good idea.

                        It’s the first place I look for coins when I get a new client and it’s the easiest method to obtain coins for both parties (automated).

                              He’s looking to make one for FTC, but it needs donors.
