Thank you for your feedback. That has all been fixed.

Not only have you come here not being fair to other pool owners, the information on your site is not complete or accurate!!If I follow your configure your miner instructions
Settings for Stratum (recommended):
3. Configure your miner.STRATUM: stratum+tcp://192.168.0.62
PORT: 3333
Username: Weblogin.Worker
Password: Worker Password
I get an error about not being able to connect, oh yeah that’s because my rig is now trying to mine against the printer on my local LAN!!!
4. Create a FeatherCoin address to recieve payments.
Downloading the client & block chain: Download the FeatherCoin client from here.
The html behind the link takes me litecoin.org! but this is a feathercoin pool, and the link says this is where I get the feathercoin client!!
Your stats page is even using the current LTC rate in the calculations for the USD/Day estimate!!!
You don’t mention pool fees anywhere on your site, it would be nice to know what they are before I have to sign up
That’s a very catchy domain name you have there! maybe spending 10 bucks on a domain name would at least give the impression your as dedicated as your marketing trys to make out.
Muddy steps of his soap box, and realises that maybe it’s just not worth it!

This has been fixed. It was a simple oversight.

Please explain to me what the hell the difference is for a pool? A domain name is simply a pointer so please explain what possible advantage I am going to get out of a registered domain name vs. a pointer domain? It’s the same shit and services the same purpose. The dynamic dns is used for load balancing between data centers but that is probably way over your train of thought.Muddy steps of his soap box, and realises that maybe it’s just not worth it!

Please explain how a couple grammatical edits is legendary? Do you get out much? The mistakes pointed out were fixed in 30 seconds. All you needed to do was simply point them out. When they develop software, its called “bugs”.
You guys must be pretty homely because I have never seen someone get so upset over some competitive statements and a couple grammatical errors on a brand new site that just launched. Wow.

For everyone reading this thread, I am the owner of the new Cali FTC Pool. I had no idea a few statements about my experiences with other pools and the problems encountered were going to stir up so many people. Frankly, I’m amazed. Anyway, for those who are logical and level headed, the statements were simply designed to point out my experiences with other pools and why I started the pool. It was not meant to “bash” other pool operators. It is simply competition in my mind.
Also, all the huge issues everyone pointed out above were all fixed in about 30 seconds. Our new getting started file didn’t get properly replicated and once someone here pointed it out, we simply replicated the correct one. Also, the link issues are also fixed as well. Again, it took about an entire 30 seconds to fix so thank you to everyone who was hyperventilating over the errors. I hope you didn’t suffer any ill health side effects.
Also, we use a dynamic dns name so we can switch between data centers and also load balance connections. Load balancing is a pretty intense IT concept so some people may mistake our domain name for us being cheap vs. using the domain name on purpose to take advantage of the domain registrar’s client and auto update features which adds to the reliability of the pool. The domain name was designed this way purposefully.
Anyway, thank you for checking out the pool. I appreciate everyone’s feedback and I have corrected the launch problems per the posts. Thank you.

Okay, my intention is not to start a flame war here just to be clear, I simply want to explain what I believe happened here.
I apologize if I came on to you as harsh and rude, it was my intention at the time I wrote the post, but in retrospect it wasn’t very nice.
However, you have to see it from the other side. You come here with no previous history in the community, brought out the big bat to bash on all other pools (more or less, and with no grounds for it either) and then go on bragging about how fancy your servers and firewalls are (even though that doesn’t mean jack shit if someone with $10 decides to go buy themselves a bot network to bring your service down)…
This was not about grammar mistakes, you brought this on yourself by acting rude and arrogant from the very first post, are you surprised that people reacted the same way back?
With that said… yes, I do get out a lot these days…since I had my daughter last year I’ve been taking walks for at least 1-2h every day ;)

This doesn’t add up. Switch between data centers? You mean in the case of outages? But you’re whole claim to fame is the system is “STABLE”. Stable means it doesn’t change, or changes infrequently at best. If it’s stable, why change it? If it changes infrequently, why not use a real domain?
Load balancing: dnsdynamic doesn’t support load balancing, it supports one IP address at a time. So obviously you’re not round-robin’ing at the DNS level, which I can only assume means you’re pointing it at a proxy for doing your load balancing? If you’re load balancing through a proxy, then we’re back at not needing dynamic dns, you can just point the DNS at your proxy.
So, strange claims to say the least. Something seems fishy. Maybe we should dig a little deeper?
Pinging califtc.dnsdynamic.com reveals an IP address of 76.168.163.145. Who owns this IP address, one might wonder?
Easy enough to find out: Time Warner Cable who provides residential broadband via DSL.
And how do we know that?
Because a reverse DNS lookup reveals the following domain: cpe-76-168-163-145.socal.res.rr.com
cpe stands for ‘customer premise equipment’, and is the standard naming convention for all the DSL deployment allocations.
And what do we see when we visit that page?
A static piece of HTML, with a single link pointing us to: http://www.califtcpool.com/mpos/
So you’re hosting it off your box at home via your DSL, and using dnsdynamic.org to deal with the fact that your IP address is subject to change.
Pinging califtcpool.com resolves to: 76.168.163.145
Yep, the SAME IP address as above.
Let’s be clear here gentlemen: You’re not using a data center, your hosting this out of your house/place of business. You’re not using dnsdynamic.org to switch between data centers, you’re using it because your DHCP lease expires on occasion, and you end up with a different IP address.

Please fix the broken links on your site, personally I don’t really care what you have to say in your marketing but you could at least get the know facts right!
It’s feathercoin.com not fethercoin.org to get the client!
As for Kevlar’s post above I had reached the same conclusion when I made my original post, and even got it down to a Student Union in L.A. but decided as I know nothing about these intense IT concepts you speak of I was not qualified to pass comment!
Load balancing is a pretty intense IT concept so some people may mistake our domain name for us being cheap vs. using the domain name on purpose to take advantage of the domain registrar’s client and auto update features which adds to the reliability of the pool.

This is feathercoin community for you.
Treat them with respect and common curtesy and they will help/guide/support you through this confusing crypto world.
However, be an d**** about it and hash out against em, and they will set you straight.
May be bad of me but man i cried a bit when reading kevlars post! TO DAMN FUNNY.
I do hope he is wrong and califtc can prove this.
Who knows, it might ends up being a great pool and all that. But its off to a rocky start…

you might want to disable directory listing on your apache webserver…would hate to see members from here getting hacked due to ignorance towards security issues.
while you’re at it, might want to force https as well
