    Problem getting 5th card mining

      I have 4 video cards mining coins with my Biostar H81S2 motherboard and I am unable to get the 5th card running. This board should support 6 video cards. When the 5th card is hooked up I get this message in the device manager properties for this card “Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)”.

      I have tried moving the card to a different PCI-e slot, and have tested all 5 cards individually. I have also tried re-installing 3 different versions of video card drivers. My next thing to try was a BIOS update, but I would rather stay away from that if I can. Is there anything else to try first?

        Are you sure that the mobo support gpus on all the pci-e sockets?

        I know that for some mobos one of the pci-e 1x slots are deactivated if using the 16x connectors, and some mobos requires ivy bridge processor to have function on one of the 1x slots.

        Would refer to the information in manual how the mobo supports setups on the slots.

          Yeah, it supports 6 cards. It is made as a mining motherboard. Here is a newegg link.

            I have exactly the same problem every time I add a 6th card to windows, error code 43, you have to force windows to install a particular driver.

            The card that has the exclamation mark, right click, update driver, choose your own driver.

            Which card is it that you’re using?

              Bl00dy hell, all along I’ve been using ati drivers 13.11 beta 5 because I’ve read they are stable. Always having issues with that 6th card being recognised in Windows 8.1.

              Based on a comment I just read in the thread iawgoM posted, I uninstalled 13.11 drivers, let windows update install whatever driver it felt best and BOOM, 6 cards recognised instantly and it’s mining at full speed no issues…

              :-( Don’t ask me how many late nights I’ve had battling with that 6th card on various rigs using 13.11 drivers…

              My advice to you Ken, just install the drivers Microsoft think you need, they work fine…

                Also, install AMD SDK 2.9, makes it more stable after undervolting…

                  Actually I’m talking complete sh!te… I don’t think the SDK has anything to do with stability after undervolting…
