      This is just what the digital cash known as bitcoin has done. Bitcoinâ€"the U.S. Treasury calls it a "decentralized virtual currency"â€"can be used to buy products and services.

      Venture capitalist wins US bitcoin auction

      A California venture capitalist announced Wednesday he won the US government auction of bitcoins, and plans to use them to help emerging economies that are “hamstrung by weak currencies.”
