I’ve not much trading experience but have looked at Feathercoin on Cryptopia, $5000 (per day) is relatively small amount of Feathercoin trading. Feathercoin is as well known in the USA as Europe so that shouldn’t be an issue.

I think it is a misnomer that being on more exchanges spreads the buyers, traders on exchanges look for good coins, so it widens Feathercoins base. It is much cheaper and quicker to move FTC around exchanges than Bitcoin for instance.

Getting a new coin on an exchange is the make or break, so getting FTC on more exchanges is one thing the “normal member” can do to improve FTC standing.

The down side to having more exchanges is that they are noted on the exchange list page and members inform them when software updates are needed. (exchanges run of block, so can cause themselves fork chains if the stay on a wrong version) i.e. they need to be communicated with, which is work.

If I understood right, coinpayments is not a normal exchange, but more a service to accept several coins for paiments to the connected shops and paying the shop owner in just one currency. I didn’t check whether it’s one coin or fiat.

Yeah, thats what I’ve been searching for, sort of like a payment button. I’d like to start taking payments with feathercoin via online source with a payment button. like a plugin? or html code? i did find www.gourl.io but i’m not willing to pay wordpress a fee as of yet. i’d like to be able to test, and without wordpress there is zero testing i can do. I’m almost willing to set a bounty to figure this out for ease of use. Being able to accept payments in FTC will not only increase traffic to FTC, but make humans more aware of the uses and speed it has. Thanks guys!

Well, there is some open source software doing that, but unfortunately for Bitcoin only.
I’m not sure how much work it would be to adapt that software to feathercoin: http://github.com/bitpay

@wellenreiter Yep! I’ve seen that one. Perhaps we can get a coder on this and reconfigure for FTC?

@addamnorth Getting the code changes is only the start, more importantly the company would have to deploy the changed version. Would they be willing to do so?

                    Re : customisation for Coinpayments.net

Can I encourage anyone to have a go at this project? It’s a really good student project, even if you couldn’t finish you’d learn loads.

Usually (these projects) is a matter of reconfiguring a few variables, we could even set up a FTC chat group so Admin could answer any questions without embarrassment (of where to look for information / what to learn).

It really would be little harder than setting up and building a miner from Github.

@wrapper yes yes yes please! that is an amazing idea. Accepting payments in button form would tremendously help this community. Even if it were proprietary to just FTC. Coinpayments.net takes a portion of payment, I mean its a genius idea. Its like they are the paypal button of all coins. FTC needs that chance. This is a great thread. And I’m hoping one of you genius’ figures this out. lol.

So all we need to do is vote here with our coins?

                        https://www.coinpayments.net/vote

Feathercoin is currently ranked 13th (amongst many others); to get to 100% all we need is a total of 1 BTC.

“To be eligible a coin must (1) be based on and/or provide a compatible interface to one of our existing coin types (ie. forks of Bitcoin, Ether, etc.) and (2) be in the top 200 of CoinMarketCap.com. It is up to the person who requests the coin to make sure it meets these requirements, if a coin is found not to meet them no refunds of any vote(s) will be given and the funds will be donated to charity as with eligible votes.”

Currently ftc wouldn’t be listed even if we reach the goal. We need to be in the top 200 on cmc. Otherwise yes it’s easy to reach 1 btc if everyone worked together.

It’s not much of a stretch, given we’re only about 20% price increase away from that barrier…let’s start voting :-)

I wish that this was still available. I have enormous ideas. And need a payments solution to do so. I’m hoping that there is one soon. I’m not crafty enough to create my own. Hence the hoping of piggy backing off of an entity that has one already one in place. I’ve dug and dug. Still to no avail there is no payment solutions for FTC. Except Gourl.io and that is the most confusing sh*t i have ever seen. lol.

Good to hear from you again, Muddy :D

Unfortunately the dropped FTC some time, and i don’t know why.

May be we - the community - should approach them and try to get added again.
Nevertheless, I still doubt, that we have enough shops, goods and/or services to trade to fulfill their requirement of $5000 volume per month.

It appears they have taken FTC down for now (even though we were at 5% already!), presumably because we don’t match all the criteria. Still a shame, though, I have the strange feeling that FTC will be meeting their criteria sooner, rather than later…

We didn’t match the criteria a week ago because we weren’t in the top 200 on coinmarketcap. But now we do. Seems wierd that they took it down.
