Possible in the future? - Dwolla/Feathercoin
-
I never bothered mentioning this before, but I was replying to a thread Tuck made in Off-topic regarding Dwolla, and figured I might as well talk about it.

I rather liked Dwolla… they’re awesome. I first heard about/used them because when I first started mining (sometime in November) I used eclipsemc.com as my pool for mining Bitcoins… They had this awesome feature where you can cash out auto or manually through Dwolla instead of BTC and instantly have what you mined as cash. Needless to say I wish there was something like that for Feathercoin. Up to now they’re the only pool I know that does this out of any coin.In regards to Dwolla, they’re simple, sleek, have an mobile phone app, easy to use and haven’t had an issues ever cashing out from them to my bank. Cheaper than Paypal too -.- I’d like to see them overtake Paypal one day because they’re a lot more customer oriented as well as innovative.
Maybe someone can find out how eclipsemc.com does their BTC to Dwolla conversions and we can maybe team up with Dwolla and do the same thing for some of our pools? Funny though, if you kept your pool balance as your primary wallet, it’s so much easier/cheaper cashing out like that than through an exchange xD
Maybe future pools can have such a feature?

this would be cool

Shame they are just a US based system from what I can see?
We need global systems.

This may very well be possible in the future if we can get FTC <> Fiat on a major exchange such as Mt.Gox as they offer the possibility to create a voucher redeemable for fiat currencies. To show your support, see http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?topic=1227.0
Wow, wasn’t aware of that. I still think this is doable though if FTC was listed on a platform with a Withdraw method in their API or with a balance sweep option to clear fiat balance to bank account on interval. From there Dwolla / PayPal payments should be able to be automated with ease.
Yeah kind of a kick In the teeth when I found out. Things are closing in around exchanges in the US to stop people from being able to transfer money into exchanges and buy these electronic currencies it seems, it was expected just really unfortunate as there will be more blocks to come, causing more damage for a while.
US gov seized Mtgox Dwolla account recently, other people have received legal letters asking them to justify why they think they are acting as an unlicensed money handler in the US in various states (thus avoiding fees and taxes etc). More is coming I recon.
Call me crazy, but I think PayPal will allow e-currency trades one day, I’m hoping for it.The other saving grace which is being worked on by a few people is P2P exchanges. 2013 will be a good year for P2P exchanges if they work, they aren’t centralized or controlled by any one person or group.
I obviously haven’t been mining bitcoin, but I was scraping up anything I had left in pools I mined in before to buy FTC/PXC and when I logged into eclipsemc the other day, they still had the Dwolla option, so I don’t even know if they’re doing it through Mt. Gox

I would never trust anything dwolla does anymore and the Feds and stuff.
-
I don’t think Dwolla did anything, it was just the fact they were on Mt. Gox and US Feds don’t like Americans using $'s to buy cryptos apparently lol
