Active Support Proposal: We are an Active Participation Community
FeatherCoin unlike any other crypto has an incredible community behind it. You can learn more about it in the official forum: http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php

can you please explain how this community is more incredible than community of bitcoin, litecoin, or even the community of taxi drivers in New York mhpbooks.com/…;. Posted with no intend to offend :-) â€" Salvador Dali May 17 at 12:48
The public doesn’t understand the difference between a passive consumer community and an active participation community.
We need to highlight this. They think we’re just spamming, “Look at us we’ve got users!” No. So far, with just the openness of Bushstar and Justabitoftime, people have felt enthusiastic about contributing. We have a problem. There is a prevailing theory of passive free markets. This is the idea that progress is driven by geniuses and wealthy risk takers. As I’ve said before, this is pure Hollywood nonsense. Progress is driven by tapping untapped potential. The openness and drive showed by Bush and Just gave everyone the assurance that their contributions would be put to use.
There is a stronger motivation than making a buck: independence. Independence means you only depend on your knowledge and understanding of the world and not bending over to established systems. The problem is that you no longer have the promise of safety and security that you get from working in the mouse wheel. Your only means of confirming progress and faith in work comes from talking to people and having accurate information. It also means that contributions go to use. It means that you are allowed to use your brain to achieve something rather than follow a path already fixed in stone. It means your success depends on your effort in relation to the real world. It means you’re not stuck moving deck chairs on a sinking ship if your developers or project owners are clueless.
An active community is based on both the joy of creating something and the security of being able to respond to the real world directly rather than being separated from it. For example, the real world suggested to me that BFLs were a gamble especially with all the preorders and prizes and so on.
Remember Doc Brown: “Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need roads!”

Seen this also, I completely agree, 24 year old Salvador Dali from the UAE is a FUD generator against feathercoin, he will never listen but as you said we need to make the public understand what the difference is, for that we need to do more interviews, probably on youtube, audio and probably video, yes feathercoin might need some of us to show our faces, I hope we have some pretty faces out there people.
If we do manage to do a public meet up, a few group photos would go a long way, because as far as the general public is concerned we are a bunch of hackers hidden away in a dark basement hooked up to mining rigs like cyborgs, not as I gather from this community a very social bunch of friendly, smart and kind individuals, that is what we need to show the world.

You probably saw more of it today, people on the trollbox saying and i quote “but what can a community do for coin”, I know some are trolling but a lot really dont understand it.
Maybe we can repond by saying something like
A community for a coin is like power for a computer. ??? :-\ (i dont know, has anyone got an idiom we could use here) -
The concept is alien in everyday life. When’s the last time you went to a mall and everyone was giving directions or picking up trash? Or a school and everyone was teaching, grading, testing, and tutoring?
It’s just not part of the regular experience. So let’s make it ;)

We need more organized offensives to FTC haters. We can’t just find ourselves in a solo fight against some hoard of FUD artists. That’s the reason I don’t really argue much in the trollbox. I’ve been backing FTC for weeks now, but I just state my opinion and leave the hating wash over me. Arguing on your own with an assortment of assholes is a useless task.
We’re working on… the contest and launch of the beta merchant tool tomorrow has taken top priority. I appreciate everything you’re doing over there. I hate to make this a ‘generation thing’ but there’s a lot of younger males that are caught up in this ‘trolling is cool’ mentality.
I’ll help Markus and Wesphily organize a few initiatives once we get past the Contest/Merchant launch. Help is coming.
You can’t imagine how f##!@#g tired I am of that mentality (am I not allowed to use curse words here? I don’t think Simplyfun is watching lol). I’m actually beyond pissed at what my generation has developed into…
On a happier note, I’m ecstatic about the merchant tool. You guys are doing a top notch job here. I honestly respect this community so much.

I’m a troll for the sake of the art and the mutual enjoyment of a few laughs. I am not a fame seeking wanker like some individuals seem to be. We are here to stay. Let’s kick some ass.

Go on any XBox forum and talk about any competitor… you’ll hear endless nonsense. This is not a bad thing, it shows we’re worth trying to keep down.
For real. I do enjoy trolling from time to time though. It is good entertainment if you direct it at the right people.
Bad examples for me, thats normal around here, (yes I live in a really really nice place) but in most places I’ve been it doesn’t happen.
