Motherboard on heighteners
-
Do you put your motherboards on heigheners?
Just asking what people with custom mining rigs do, i for once just mount em om my plastic shelf directly with screws, however now im going to use wood shelf.
Am a little bit afraid of shortcircuting stuff. Any advice regarding this? -
I’ve been using standard metal screws (for my rigs with aluminum tube construction), and standard wood screws (for the one rig I have mounted on a board), together with one inch cut lengths of flexible plastic tubing to serve as stand-offs. I slip the screws through the holes in the mobo, then slide the 1 inch plastic tube lengths over the screws, then tighten the screws down until the tube bits are snug between the mobo and the rig frame. It’s not high-tech, but it works.

I just cut a couple of biro pens into 15mm lengths.
I was gonna plonk them straight on the board but wanted to allow some airflow.
