'Got LP'
-
Hi all. I’m mining using GUIminer Scrypt. After mining for some hours, I’ve recently noticed that it is giving the the message ‘Got LP’; and it no longer shows how many shares are being accepted.
A google search a proved fruitless - what does ‘Got LP’ mean? -
Hmm, i don’t know. But you could try setting up ‘cgminer’ (http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?topic=486)
Really not hard at all! :) -

Ok thanks. I’ve researched long polling now, and I understand it’s purpose.
What I’m still not sure of, is what suddenly causes GUIminer to tell me ‘Got LP’. Is this a good thing / bad thing? Does it require me to do something when this occurs? -
+1 for Cgminer.
Longpoll is slow on the block updates. I ran a test lastnight where i connected 2 of my miners to my soon to made public pool - 1 via Stratum and 1 via Longpoll. The stratum had the new block a good minute before the longpool miner got the update. With 2.5 minute blocktimes you could effectively be loosing half your shares.
If you struggle getting cgminer running, shout here and we’ll have you running in no time.

Thanks for the replies. For now, using GuiMiner with cgminer. I may look into the command line side of things if I have time this weekend. But things are running smoothly for the time being:
