Help setting 5970s up

Ok so I have this mining away and want to set fan speed from auto. I have tried adding --gpu-fan and 56 and it does not change the speed of fan.
I have also used msi afterburn and the option to ajust fan speed is not their it is faded out and cant edit settings… Seems everything is on auto bloody setting.
Is their a way to flash this gpu to newer or a setting I can use in cgminer to have fan speed higher or a percentage rate.
I have the 5970 x2 black edition.

I believe this is a limitation in the fan controllers themselves. I used to have one of these cards (The sapphire one though) and it would often overheat and crash the machine. I did have really bad case airflow though but regardless the temps were WAAAAAY up and yet the fans were only at ~40% (cant remember the exact numbers as it was so long ago). I just let mine burn so i had an excuse for a new board. ;)

Also have a 7850 and wont budge 200kh/s dam cards pissing me off lol

If that fails and you’re a bit of a rebel like me you could simply “hotwire” the fans to run at max all the time.

Trixx crashes system but does allow fan control however it don’t seem to be working tho and am unsure about tep readings on it lol says my cards at 90c yet cgminer says 82c
This is driving me bonkers lol
