Not able to install Xubuntu from usb (initdramfs)
-
Hi.
Having some issues installing xubuntu to one of my rigs.
Wanting to install xubuntu from an usb stick, but after a while loading (getting xubuntu screen) it just pops out to initdramfs.
Tried setting achi/different usb settings/factory default/other os +++ in bios but still just end up the same place…Used the usb stick on 5 other setups without a single hickup, also tried to make a new xubuntu stick with other boot install but end up the same.
Doesnt matter if i choose install / or try out, it ends up to this screen either way…The mobo is a Gigabyte GA990FXA-UD5 AM3+
Im going crazy here…

I see i get some errors with the usb read/write.
after googling a bit there was one article stating it might be hw error (the mobo is brand new) -
Apparently that initdramfs comes when there hardware problems to.
Changed the memory from 4gb to an old 2gb i had laying around, and now it works=) -
Very stange … but good to know :-)
seems that initdramfs gets thrown around alot if theres some kind of hw error. people have experienced it if the usb ports have had to high voltage and so on…
Been stable since i change the memory so everything seems good=)
