I can't sleep

It’s 2am and here I am just like last week worrying about the Weekly Newsletter so I decided to just get up and work on it because lots of ideas were coming in to my head and I was afraid I would lose them.

Make sure you take care of yourself Chris! Don’t be like jabot was haha, anyways it’s great you have such an endless flow of ideas, make sure you give your mind a rest so it comes up with more :)
Alright, now I feel responsible for starting this, so I’m going to end it here. I don’t meant to come down on your aysyr, I know you were making a joke, but I still feel responsible and I want to take the right steps to undo any damage I may have caused, so let this be about me and not about you aysyr, please. You’ve done nothing wrong, but I have and I was to correct it.
I’ve spent a lot of time with JABOT. I’ve also recently spent a bit of time with ChrisJ, and while we may have had some miscommunications regarding deadlines, I’m going to go on the official record here and say the following:
JABOT was (is?) a very intelligent and charismatic person. He did a lot of good for this community in rallying support for it during the early days. Whatever may have happened, he did put a lot of time and energy into doing what he believed was the right thing. Now I think we’ve discussed at length how the right thing in his mind, and the right thing for FTC may be two very different things, but that doesn’t change the fact that he was passionate about it to a fault: So passionate about it, that nothing anyone could say could knock him off that passion.
ChrisJ is, in many respects, similar to JABOT, in that he is also very charismatic, intelligent, and has taken on the role of community leader. They both put their collective lives on proverbial hold to dedicate themselves to the success of this community. They both have poured their passion into this, and want to see it succeed, and even have a vested interest in doing so.
The difference that I’ve witnessed first hand is that ChrisJ listens to people. He REALLY does. JABOT had a bit of a Napoleon complex, and it drove him to make unilateral decisions which, in his opinion, he believed were designed to help the coin. Now I think you all know that I personally have been burned pretty badly by JABOT, so I’m not going to come to his defense regarding what happened. But I think that as much as this comment was obviously made in good humor, it’s unfair to make that comparison between ChrisJ and JABOT, even in jest.
I know I’m the one who’s guilty of starting this comparison, and when I said it, I wasn’t trying to make a joke. I’ve since reflected on it, and I got it wrong.
I’ve apologized to ChrisJ for that comment personally, and I’d like to do so again publicly. It was unfair of me to make such a judgement without first consulting with him on the reasons why I thought it was valid, and now I regret saying it, because the fact of the matter is that despite my initial misgivings, I’ve come to really understand and respect ChrisJ and what it is he’s doing. The truth is I’ve managed to make him unpopular, and he doesn’t deserve that. If you know me at all you know that I’m really guarded with my praise, and quick with my anger, so the fact that I’m now standing up and giving him my official endorsement as NOT being “like JABOT”… well, I hope it means something to someone anyway.
ChrisJ has done the things that a good leader does that JABOT never did. For starters, he’s listened to me, and to a lot of other people. He values my opinions, and he acts with integrity. He consults with me, instead of just blowing smoke up my ass, and he acts on the things that I tell him with finesse, and he does this with everyone from what I’ve seen. He mediates and takes a hands on approach to conflict resolution. He stands up for what he believes in, but he does not force his opinion on others, or shut them down when they disagree. He’s making genuine plans for the future while consulting smart people about the best path, and he’s avoiding damaging hype as best he can.
In short, he’s doing a good job, and without speaking for him, I think he might appreciate it if we didn’t compare him to JABOT, even in jest. Bushstar has made some decisions I don’t agree with in the past, but the fact of the matter is both Bushstar and ChrisJ are now working together to right this ship, and they both deserve more credit than I’ve given them to date, and I completely agree with his decision to put ChrisJ in the position of community leader.
I owe Bushstar and apology as well, but that’s a much more involved conversation that still needs to happen between us and I won’t air our dirty laundry here. For now, I hope you will all accept my apology for unfairly comparing ChrisJ to JABOT, and I hope out of respect for him, and for JABOT, we can put this particular matter to rest once and for all.
Sincerely,
-Kevlar -
I already proposed you have to work less, but stay with us long-term here:

I am sorry but it is clearly workoholic answer.
And workoholism is not good for long-term goals at all.
Seriously: reduce your speed, one gear down ;) -

Oh no, I was by no means comparing them in that manner. Sorry I can’t make a longer post (I’m actually in the middle of class right now), but I was merely comparing the fact that they both let Feathercoin “take over their lives” per say. Not that it’s a bad thing, haha just reminded me of how Jabot was always being haunted about new ideas and being kept up all night even during vacation and such. If it sounded like that’s how my post came across, I apologize, because I don’t have the slightest inclination that he’ll have the same fate.
I also did spend time communication with Jabot, although probably not as much as you did, and I did put my trust and hope in him and do appreciate all the work he’s put forth into helping the community. It’s just unfortunate his road ended the way it did.
I definitely agree with you though, ChrisJ definitely has a more personal touch with us and is very open with us. It’s really great seeing how up-to-date and in-the-loop he keeps us… it makes it feel much more transparent than before, especially with all the photos and videos behind the scenes.
But thanks for pointing that out Kevlar, didn’t realize it might have been heard the wrong way. And just in case no one has said it (enough) I appreciate the long drawn out posts of wisdom you post here. You play a huge role in keeping balance while at the same time showing great support for Feathercoin
