What does 'discarded' mean in the miners statistics?

Accepted: 159
Rejected: 0
Discarded:505

I’m pool mining on nut2pools.com.

What does discarded mean?

Not to sure, i personally use cgminer which doesn’t report this.
Maybe someone else with bfgminer can answer this.

However keep in mind that we at nut2pools use 256diff, which means you get a lot less accepted shares vs for example 64diff.
However everyone has 256diff, and the share is worth correct. So it should not matter regarding you vs other miners etc.

We feel variable diff is to dodgy atm to implement it. To much little hiccups.
