There’s two schools of thought with regards to this:
#1: As difficulty spikes, perception in interest will increase, and a more invested market will demand a higher valuation, partially to maintain profitability, partially to get in on the ‘latest trend’.
#2: As difficulty spikes, profitability will plummet leading to a lower valuation.Which do you think is right, and why? Is there a third option (the price won’t be impacted by this? seems unlikely)?

ill buy one and mine FTC!
I tend to go with #1. If profitability plummets then that will turn a certain number of miners away hopefully letting difficulty fall to a point at which it is just marginally profitable again.

IMO, everyone should be able to get decent profit by using modern GPU’s. I think that what has happened to bitcoin mining is ridicilous.I wonder if we could do the same as what f@h does. Every new GPU would have to be whitelisted, so you could only mine with approved hardware.
no way!
This is not in the decentralized free market spirit, in fact its flat out fighting the free market.
If i see FTC heading on this path, i’ll dump faster then you can say BITCOIN
