Cant get any value ... keep getting (avg):0.000h/s

I’m new so please excuse my stupid question.

I’ve just installed cgminer and join a pool (fcpool).

I am connected to the pool just fine (at least that’s what I understand from the CLI) :
Connected to pool.fcpool.com diff 63 with stratum as user kimpeke.1

However, I’m not getting any ratio … it remains at 0 :

cgminer version 3.8.2 - Started: [2013-11-18 18:27:04]

(5s):0.000 (avg):0.000h/s | A:0 R:0 HW:0 WU:0.0/m
ST: 2 SS: 0 NB: 6 LW: 25 GF: 0 RF: 0

Installing this stuff seemed straightforward enough but I’m stuck right now.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

FYI : I’m using a MAC.

Are you using a .bat file?
