Any new developments?

Are there any new developments going on? It seems like things are stagnant around here. Practically all other coins are increasing in value, but FTC is not. It would be nice to see something that would increase the value.
-
When you say stagnant do you mean the price compared to BTC which is currently parabolic and making all alts look cheaper?
If you want to stay up to date you can checkout our Weekly News and the recent Amsterdam Conference that we hosted where it was announced BIPS.me were planning on implementing FTC support.
By the way we could really do with some front end designers to help out with some projects, is this something you could help with? Also Merchant adoption, do you know any local shops that would be interested in taking FTC?

FTC shot up to 22 from 15 this morning.
Which alts would you say aside from LTC have increased against fiat and what do you think they were doing to keep their value up?
Also buy or sell something on our market place and you could help increase the utility of the coin. If you are interested in buying and selling FTC locally you could add yourself to our map. We plan to develop this further in the future.

Seriously, what is new and exciting around here? This coin is competing with others and with momentum that seems to have stalled or evaporated, it can die. It’s seems everyone around here says “oh, the price has stabilized”. That is a piss poor excuse for something somewhat new as FTC that needs to grow.
The FTC community needs to look for ways to increase the value by doing something that stands out, which in turn increases interest across the globe. And please, get over the fact that people are trying to make money on a product. That is the way the world turns. That is why people on here are so happy to have FTC join other markets. It increases market-share and increases value. If people wanted to keep their government currency, they would, but are instead trying to catch an opportunity.

Have you done (or at least suggested to do) something that stands out?Personally I think I see people trying to do something for FTC. And of course more people could do so much more.
Well first, I cannot write code, but I made my opinion clear that I thought Zerocoin would be one of the best things for FTC to stand out above all the rest. Apparently that has gone nowhere as well.
You are right, I am part of this community and that is why I bought a lot of FTC a while back, believing there was a bright future. Now, I am totally losing hope on this coin, seeing stagnation.

All these cryptos are highly speculative and there are many people making strong claims about what a coin should be or shouldn’t be, whether it’s undervalued or not but the truth is nobody knows anything. Speculators are mostly interested in short term returns, they use the alts to generate more Bitcoins or worse, more government issued money.
I don’t deny they are stakeholders but we are here to ensure the viability of the currency as a whole as it relates to future users, merchants, security of the blockchain and how it scales across the globe. On the other hand we can’t do anything that could jeopardise the price in the short term as that would shake confidence that would impact on the longer term.

I agree with what ChrisJ says, you have to think long term plus the job of the developers is not to make us all rich but to make FTC a viable payment method. Of course we all want a higher value, which I think could happen in the future.
Also, 2 other points for the value:
1. Remember this started this April, so it’s not even a year old.
What was the price of BTC after less than a year? Now I know that’s not a completely fair comparison, but…2. When you compare to other alts, you have to keep in mind the total supply. For example, Novacoin is very expensive (5$ or so), but that’s because the total amount of coins is very limited.
FTC will produce quite a few coins (I think 16 times more than BTC). If we limited the total coins to say 1 million, the value would be much higher.
