Am so stuck minning
-
ok i take it by not the nost efficient you mean the : gummier " ? not sure what it means but i see people complain about it that they should use CP something lol
-
ok so i sign up for d2 minning list, i did the downloads, and clicked on the download that said for Noobs like myself… there is so many options i dont have any idea where to go its not even funny. i wanted to try to use my Nvidia 9500gt card on my desktop. Please someone give me step by step instructions on what i need to enter at website for D2 … like what do i use this is the options i got from the download " for noobs " ( see attachment for what options i have ) Also what do i need to do and enter in the feather coin wallet i notice it says on there " mining " option … IF I DO not need to mess with that then please just tell me i dont need it more complicated
p.s. thanks in advance and sorry for being such a noob but the thing did say a new person can do it LOL

ty for reply i did try that link " mirror 2 " is where i download the stuff that gave me all options i put on screenshot, but as you can see i see it where folders say " cgminer, stratum, guimer Cant be seen its on side ’ so i need to know do i need to mess with all of them or only gumier and dont even mess with the rest?

update …
so i finally figured something out that really was set up in less than 5 minutes using my NVidia 9500 GT card, granted it is crappy as can be shows 20Kh it is still better than the error i was getting before. Sadly i was not able to go with the 1st pool i wanted since settings i found was not stratum. So the site im using had the direct port information that i needed to input into the guiminer thingy LOL -
Glad you finally got is all working here is to mining your first coin :-)
-
thank you Kris, i was told that with the Nvidia 9500 GT card i should be getting between 65 - 95KH not really sure why i am getting only 15 - 20kh I would like to improve it but not if it means messing with anything hard … let me reword that hard to a total noob like me :)
-
I’m gonna echo d2’s and MrFeathers advice. Maybe setting up CUDA will help…
I’m not sure, I am new to all this myself, but I’ve managed to get my GTX 680 going from 20khash to 200khash.
-
wow awsome you went from 20 kh to 200kh from that card? i would like to know how u did that because i am averaging 15kh from my Nvidia 0500 GT card
-
I’m right about to crash out. uber tired and its 2 in the morn here. My partner helped me pull those speeds with cudaminer and im using guiminer-scrypt for the proxy. I’ll talk with him tomoz and let you know the exact details… took a bit of dicking around but we got it in the end.
-
awsome let me know if it is something easy as i am not computer savy
-
Well. I wouldn’t say it’s “easy” but I wouldn’t say it’s difficult either. With that said, I don’t consider myself as savy in regards to the bulk of the miners out there, but I will help if I can.
Give me a moment to gather my thoughts and I’ll see what I can do for you. To start of with though, you will need to download cuda. Depending on your connection, it could take a bit, so start there.
d2 mentioned the link above. -> https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads
-
I can only advise you how I’ve done it. I don’t know if this will work for you. btw I’m using a stratum server like d2’s
PROXY
I’m using guiminer-scrypt for my stratum proxy. Just realized im even using an older version too… but 0.04 should be fine i presume.
Go file - new miner - new stratum proxy.
Chuck in your proxy details and see if the proxy starts correctly.
CUDA Miner
Inside your cuda miner directory, you want to make a .bat file with this typed in it. Where ***** is your username and ##### is your password
cudaminer.exe --no-longpoll -O *****:##### -x localhost:8332
Start your proxy, then run the .bat file. fingers crossed it will connect and start accepting shares. I’ve included some screen shots that will hopefully give you an idea of what to do and what things look like if there working.
Let me know if you need to know any specifics. And also forgive me if this doesn’t work.

Here it says your 9500 runs at 7.5k/hash so I’m not really sure what speeds to expect. but good luck!
It makes a big difference if you use the cuda toolset and cudaminer or one of the ‘standard’ miners like cgminer or bfgminer.
I went from 2khash/sec to 12-13 khash on my old geforce 8400
NVidia has a list of GPU that support Cuda together with a factor… whatever that means…

hello calem and thanks for the information based on what you said i wont mess with anything then since i already get between 10 - 23kh. Well thats according to the pool i am in called, i think this the full name LOL feathercoin.is-a-geek.com and im new so not sure how good their equip is in calculatin KH accurately. In any case even though i wont make changes due to fear of loosing kh i will still try to give you " rep " on here if i can.
