An open request to BTC Markets
-
Hello,
I have an open and public request in regards to currency pairs.
Australians need to use over sea’s exchanges in order to acquire coins aside from Bitcoin and Litecoin. We have to buy btc or ltc then moving those funds elsewhere in order to trade or collect. With so many alt-coins out there, I understand that BTC Markets can not list all of them. There’s just to many. With that said, I do feel though, the Australian market could benefit greatly by having more options locally.
The rising price of Bitcoin and now also Litecoin, is making it harder and harder to aquire decent volumes. Especially for those who have very little Aud to invest in the first place. Consequently more and more miners are now turning to the alt-coins and trading in the outside markets. SHA is just too competitive and to expensive to invest and or mine.
All these elements are now coming together and this is discouraging potential new-comers into the world of crypto, predominantly back here at home. This is evident in the disequilibrium of what we pay and what other countries pay for there btc and ltc.
Scrypt ASIC’s are now seemingly just around the corner.
Australians need the ability to buy cheaper scrypt based crypto’s directly with their Australian dollars. My brother and I do not feel comfortable trading abroad but we currently have no choice.
Would BTC-M consider pulling off an Australian first by been the only to list the Feathercoin / Aud pair?
These exchanges list ftc:
BTC-E
Cryptsy
Vircurex
BTer
Coins-E
Crypto-Trade
McxNow
Cryptonit
Crypto.stBTC-e recently reversed their decision to pull the ftc/btc pair due to public outcry. Volume and price have since increased. The Feathercoin community is growing in leaps and bounds all across the globe.
From: Cryptosource.org/coins/alt-coins-other/feathercoin-ftc/
“Feathercoin is based on Litecoin, which is safeguarded from the effects of Bitcoin ASIC mining. It has a block reward of 200 coins and will have a total of 336 million coins. This makes it four times that of LiteCoin. It joins the crypto currency family by positioning itself with Litecoin in the same way that Litecoin is aligned with Bitcoin. It does not compete with Bitcoin or Litecoin, it complements them.”
I’m fully aware that this information is probably not new to the BTC Markets team.
I know I just represent two people’s personal opinions.
I know that my brother and I don’t have much to offer in regards to trade volume.
I believe ftc will find it’s place in the realm of micro-transactions thus has a real future for small business.I feel very confident that, by listing a more accessible alt-coin here in Australia, everyone will benefit.
Volume is King
Regards,
Calem Smith.P.S
I don’t need or want to know the outcome prior to anyone else.
I hope BTC Markets will take into consideration what I have said.
I intend on continuing to buy, mine and trade ftc regardless of the outcome.
I shall also be posting this on the Feathercoin forum to gauge thoughts and feedback from the community.
What do other’s think?
How many here in Australia will use their service if they decide to list ftc/aud?
Are there enough miners here to sell ftc to supply potential new-comers?
I’m very limited in my own resources, but I will do what I can.
I encourage anyone else who lives here to also email them and make the same request.

I would love an FTC/AUD option.
That’s excellent news. Have you tried converting aud to crypto so you could go elsewhere to buy ftc?
That’s my major complaint. I know the transaction fee’s aren’t much but it’s an uber hassle…

Yeah. Bought a a few hundred tonight with some BTC. It really is a hassle but at this point I’ll do what I have to do to be in the game!
I want to accept ftc for custom dj mixes alongside graphics design and other forms of digital art. I can’t see any aussie’s been willing to do so unless they can buy ftc without hassle…
What would really hit off is an android or apple app. I know there’s one in production but im unsure of details.
The average person can’t be bothered going through the process to exchange backwards and forwards. Not to mention the size of transactions are substantially smaller so I’m assuming fee’s overseas will make people wonder how much of there donation or payment will make it through.
For small business owners and hobbyists, been able to go from ftc directly to aud quickly and efficiently will greatly encourage the adoption of crypto’s.
Thank you for voicing your opinion.
If enough Australian’s request BTC Markets or BTC.sx to pair Aud with ftc, it could realy take on a life of it’s own.

I’ve just been told by an avid gamer that Australians pay close to 30 to 40% more for hard copy retail console games. We fork out more per capita then the US.
For example, GTA5’s rrp for a hardcopy is US $60, whereas in aud its $110.
It’s no wonder we’re pay a premium for anything here in Australia. We have close to 1/20th of the population yet pay more.

Pick up your gain BTC Markets.
Seriously…
Please ahy…

I’ve now sent coinjar, another australia exchange, a message to add ftc support.
I’ve made a request to BTCMarkets.net to support the Feathercoin / Aud pair but so far have not received a response.
I have made the email public by posting it on the Feathercoin forum here -> https://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?topic=4724.0
I’m not going to go through the reasons why Coinjar should list Feathercoin, my case is stated in the email / forum post.
Please. Would you consider adding ftc/aud.
It’s so much faster in transaction times and there’s a massive growing community behind it.
Australia needs to be ahead of the game. We can do this by been the first to up hold ftc alongside with btc and ltc.
