Should I try solo mining?
-
Hi, I am new to feathercoin mining and I have had no luck getting pool mining to work. Just clicking solo mining is so much easier lol.
Anyway, I have 3 old Pentium 4’s with decent graphics cards laying around and I was wondering if I used them as solo miners how long it would take to get 200 coins?

see:

check out the hash rates for your cards and enter these in the calculator

The calculator gives the average number of FTC you get per day. Devide 200 by that number and you have the number of days you’ll need to mine.
In addition, the calculator also gives you an estimation of the revenues you can get at current difficulty and exchange rates.

I have a question, where it says coins per day, do I really get that many a day in my wallet?

Do you need to find a block to get ftc?

What do you call a decent graphics card? P4’s and decent graphics cards aren’t usually in the same sentence. To give you an idea, I mine with r9 280x Matrix Platinums and 7970’s OC’d to the max and on average it will take me 12 days to find a block.
If you are soloming, yes you need a block to get ANY ftc. it’s all or nothing.
Pool mining means you get some FTC everytime “someone” on the pool gets a block. Or there a PPS pool, where you are paid for every share you submit regardless of whether a block is found or not.
