      Just a suggestion…

I would like you to capitalize the C in the logo on the forum, and on the top of the wallet. You have also missed it on the sub-forum - Feathercoin Disussion and maybe in other places…

Whilst it might not appear important, capitalizing the second word helps you read it more easily. It needs to be consistent across all the platform and social media profiles too for branding. I’ve seen MegaCoin gain praise for their branding so this coin needs to be strong on that too.

      FeatherCoin

      thanks

I like this suggestion, Wellenrieter has just done the work to add Feathercoin graphics to the new Feathercoin client 0.8.5.0.

If you want to take it further, git clone the new Feathercoin client and look in Feathercoin-0.8.5/share/pixmaps.

We discuses about referencing the Feathercoin files in a subdirectory, but that would need a code change. At the moment we replace the files.

Make some demo changes, then announce it on Technical Development. There is a paper by ChrisJ on how the board works. “Welcome to The Technical Development Board.”

I did a guide to viewing and compiling the source code in a Virtual Box, which is easier than trying to compile in Windows.

          Thanks wrapper.

I’ll take a look. I use VB quite a bit so I’m familiar with it. I’ll post a question I have in the other thread.

I actually made the decision a while back to drop the capitalised C. There were come places it was capitalised and some not. It’s subjective issue, but if you feel really strongly about it we could put it to a vote.

I personally agree with the OP …

For branding purposes the capitalised C in the name ‘FeatherCoin’ really makes it stand out. For one ‘Feathercoin’ loses out on an important marketing trick.
It is the rule of a name. You should never, for instance, create a new unknown business name with more than 7 letters. It is a basic rule of thumb that names with 7 letters or less are more easily remembered by the average human brain ;-)
So therefore a short striking name with 7 letters or less will stick in the mind.
Having ‘coin’ on the end of these crypto currency names is just clever marketing anyway. People like to visualise these currencies as a real and tangible thing, hence ‘coin’ on the end of the name. It should stay as two syllables though so it does not dilute the name of the actual ‘coin’ which is ‘Feather’

That is what will stick in a consumers mind. IMO

i think some new graphics / icons etc in the next client update would be good. i had another coin wallet open at the same time as feathercoin wallet, both icons in the tray next to each other, and the feathercoin one looked bad. really bad compared.

so thanks to whoever is doing them, it is much appreciated.
