@Bushstar I told you you should take the decline in hashrate into account when estimating how many blocks will be generated in a week. In the two days after the hard fork only 30 blocks were generated. Even if the hashrate doesn’t drop further the retarget is still 12 days away…
There was no hard fork yet, what are you refering to?You are right in the fact that the network hash rate is declining and Time to Retarget is growing. Somehow the network hashrate must increase or it’s going to crawl to a stop.
Sorry, I was referring to the release of the new client.

Is block 33,000 too far away? At the current speed it takes us approx. 14 days til we get there! (not 3 as the stats page says). Many miners might jump ship til then.
There was an overdrive of new coins hitting the scene day before yesterday - 7 or 8 I think. Almost all are dead, except worldcoins. If worldcoins don’t get listed on an exchange over the weekend interest will cool and we can expect a bump in the hash rate here.
-
This is the time to find a block (in minutes) over the last 2000 blocks. It takes more than 2 hours on average now for one block, getting closer to 3.
With one block every 3 hours it will take us 3 weeks before we reach block 33,000! I hope the coin survives this.

It seems the hard fork should have happend much earlier, more like at block 32,850.
Hindsight is easier than foresight … -

I think you guys do a hell of a job promoting the coin.
If you could get someone like Bitpay to accept it, the coin would be at $3 overnight.
You nailed it, that’s our next hurdle. I’ve been in contact with not only Bitpay but a few of the smaller solutions as well… we’re keeping at it!
-
later will add another 4GH/s justas @ coinotron.com , FTC
-
Keeping my 4.5 GH/s on it.
I do agree that when I saw 33000 I had doubts but Bushstar had to take a guess and 33000 is not that far from now. I whould find one block every 2 days on my own.
Keep it up! -
today is so hot outside +30C +26C inside with AC. cards running at +79C - +83C is it safe ? how long cards can run like that ?
Hmm, yeah it’s ok as long it’s not going much higher.
Edit: where are you from btw, here (in Holland) it’s 9C at the moment :/

They’re perfectly fine Justas, ATi/AMD GPUs will run at 95C, quite happily too, although for long periods of time ideally you want to keep it sub 90, or 85 even. -

Lithuania , we had long long winter…and could ~ -15C - -29C . Now it’s extremely hot. insane! not a good day for mining -

@robep00 I think miners are going to be in a pinch now. Their scorched earth strategy has put them in a bind. They will get crumbs from the bitcoins even if the bitcoins are more profitable and they burned their altcoin space. Still I don’t expect them to have learned anything until the third or fourth cycle. This means anything we do as a community to better the ecosystem of cryptocurrencies is going to pay back huge rewards. The pools listen to developers. The miners listen to pleasure and pain. The buyers and sellers are begging for the things they usually get with fiat. Somebody is going to have to figure out how to make all these people happy.
I totally agree
-
Hashrate is going down, time to retarget going up. Is it feasible to bring the fork to 32,900 instead of 33,000? I don’t think there are any more donors willing to help increase the network performance. :-\
-
Just keep on mining and meanwhile contribute everything you can to help this community forward. I will look at two guides of an other forum member this weekend and see whether I can improve the language.
-
32,825 is mine :)
Keep going! -
You are all underestimating how long the GPU miners in the other coins can handle the high difficulty of the other coins. They are going to flood back in especially as prices start falling again in BTC, LTC. At that point they will find they can’t abuse this community as easily as the others.

Stop dreaming and get back on the ground :P What happens if they don’t flood back to FTC, instead they go to CNC or WorldCoin or whatever the new fancy profitable coin is? -
I estimate about 1 month at this rate to find 175 blocks. Is it realistic?
We’ll get things moving one way or another before then.
There are some mining groups out there that could make our blocks move very quickly. This was my concern, that setting the change too close could actually expose us to attack. We have been attacked from so many angles already and it would be no surprise if someone boosted our hash to get a hard fork in before the exchanges pools did.
Coinotron is getting more hash power for Feathercoin. We do have hashes behind us and we will get there.
