280x Main card slower then Slave card
-
how much memory is in your computer? are you running crossfire?
just to confirm. The same card give you the same stats or the same pci-e port give you the same stats?
-
i have 8gb ram
yes crossfire running, because i use it for gaming
That card that is use in first slow will always be slower, so if i put card 2 in slot one, card 2 will be the slower one, slot 1 is the card i have my monitor plug in to :)
-
my guess it would be something to do with the crossfire. to check just disable it and run your mine temporarily to see if you have any changes?
-
yeah ill give that a shot and see tonight :)
-
I can tell you that my primary card gets lower KHs than my secondary but only by about 5…not 100. You seem like you know enough about computers, so my first recommendation would be to stop using GUIminer and run cgminer instead. This will give you much more control over the speeds of your cards and depending on the version you may not see this problem happen. The older 3.1 version seems to work great for almost anyone I would give that a shot.

and read that and use the template. It may help diagnose the problem faster. -

thanks
-
-d 0 thats the first card. -d 1 thats the second.

replace x with the card number, sometimes they are reported in a different order than expected. If that happens cgminer will still display which cards are inactive and active. Use that to figure out which is the one you don’t want. -
double oops
-
can you please paste what you .bat looks like, and then i will understand easy, thanks :D
-
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://stratum.pool.com:port -u angloblaxon.1 -p hahaha -d 0 --intensity 13 --shaders 2048 --lookup-gap 2 --worksize 256 -g 2
basic .bat please update to your cards settings.
-
icic thanks, i was using the " " with it … my bad
-
thats if you have a config file to go along with it. In that case you point to the config file with the .bat
then you alter the config file. Im guessing you tried to copy some settings from the other thread i made? in that case thats a config file setup without my pool info at the top
example
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
cgminer --config C:\cgminerConfig.conf
man great help

-
havent found the right blend for that specific card yet. I also undervolted it a little.
oh yea. make sure you are not getting any hardware errors either. hashrates lie if your HW is more than 0
-
what is HW stand for?
-
hardware errors. if you have a number > 0 add --thread-concurrency 8192 and see what happens
-
following up with yesterday, GCminer is doing the same as gui :( main card is still slower at around 600 and the other card is running at 670
don’t know why i try switch and it’s still the same :(

Did you ever disable crossfire?
