        Yo! We’re around 7-9MH/s currently. That looks great. I am currently checking if i can decrease latency by running the feathercoind daemon from a ramdisk. Will keep you updated on that…

          I have been mining for a short time in the pool but have yet to recieve a payout… To be honest I am mining at a very low rate but thought there might be something by now.

          Can you tell me how your payouts work?

              Hello tnotm,

              p2pool uses the PPLNS (“Pay per last N shres”) method for payouts. You can get more information on PPLNS here: http://pool-x.eu/aboutpplns - this is one of the standard documentations for the PPLNS system used on a number of pool web sites.

              In a nutshell it means that you receive payouts based on your contribution over the last number of shares you mined / submitted. As this system is meant to discourage pool hoppers, you need to mine consistently over a certain period of time (rule of thumb: 24 hours). You could “hop” between p2pool nodes as long as you use the same payout address as all p2pool nodes form a large pool.

              To summarize (and simplify a bit): You need to mine for about 24 hours to get to your standard payout rate in a p2pool.

                that seems to be true. Not sure why that one has vanished. I do have my local copy - however, i am not sure if that can / shall be uploaded to github again. Are you interested in setting up a p2pool for feathercoin?

                  Thanks for responding to my inquiry. You hit the nail on the head with the hopping. I am very green at this, as you can tell, and I am using 3 old computers to eeek out 25khs for mining. I get skittish when I can’t see my mining showing up on the pool. I mined for about 4 hours or so last night and when I didn’t see anything… I hopped around to different pools looking for one that showed my 3 miners actually working.

                  Thanks again for responding and for the information regarding ‘PPLNS’. Although I hopped off I appreciate you making your pool… you may see my deposit account and IP hitting you again.

                      looks like there has been some issue with the pool or the feathercoin daemon. Even though there have been found shares there have been no payouts and the overall p2pool hash rate significantly went down. Not sure what caused this - i have restarted the feathercoind and the p2pool service and now everything seems to be back up - i have received payouts again. Not sure where the shares / results went in the past hours, though.

                      Some other pool operators have contacted me about roughly the same issue. Not sure what it is about, though. Even though it’s working again, i will have a closer look whenever i can.

                        Don’t suppose this would have caused my issue?

                        The only reason that I ask is because I am sure I say payouts while I was mining but I never received… I also noted the very low efficiency as well.

                          No, i don’ think this is related to your issue. With a low hash rate like 25khs, you need to mine quite some time to actually receive your share of the coins for sumitting the shares. I do have some LTC test miners running and it took them 3 days until they received some coins. Like 0.008 after 3 days… ;-)

                            Can i use a GUI to connect to your pool? I really want to mine FTC but i’m a newbi :) Help me out and i’ll connect 1.5 Gh/s.

                              What mining software do you currently have installed? You do not really need a GUI, a windows batch script will do, for example with cgminer…

                                Good evening,

                                looks like the situation got sorted out. There is a new repository for a feathercoin p2pool that seems to have a much cleaner implementation of feathercoin in p2pool. I have updated my pool to run that software. Performance looks great as this version does not produce as much errors as the old version. Press you thumbs that it works properly! And… enjoy!

                                        Found that we may mining on more than one public p2pool (but working stand alone)
                                        Here is my address 6vLquF9foaAHcsqpALDkKz99bMg6JyKV7a which joined http://pool.maeh.org:19327 yesterday
                                        My hash rate keep stable but payout displayed dropping from 7 Ftc to 1 and now … not even in payout list.
                                        However… i received single block(31129) payout 13 FTC on same address that was hidden on p2pool statics
