Riser pluged in to the Riser ...........
-
Hi guys I have both 4x 7950’s Dual X, and 10x R9 280’s Vapor x . So original plan is/was make 3 rigs but, as reading deeper in to the forums I found out that at least 7cm is recommended of free space between cards. Now as I’m looking at Hardware I see that there’s no chance of plugging 4 and 5 gpu’s in to my Msi x79a-gd45 plus mobo and keeping that 7cm distance between GPU’s with riser’s as they only 18.5 cm length. So ze big Q is : Can I plug 2 risers together for like 2gpu’s and use single risers for the rest? So I can get descent space between GPU’s or should i brake my piggy bank and buy missing parts for extra rig (thought I really don’t want to do so) …
These are the risers that I bought : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261318831916?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 -

I havent yet tried it but i hear you should always use powered risers and use the powered riser on the bottom of the two coupled.

yes you can chain connect the risers:) at least two (havent tried more cause i didnt need to)oh and yeah, what anglo said
edit2:
use one powered and one passive when chaining and not two powered -
Sweet , thanks for help. And yea, it’s going to be powered risers :)
