Tell you a sad news: LTC whole network operator 90G force a breakthrough!

Ok poll started, if more people say yay than those who say nay then the campaign will be going ahead. http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php/topic,6051.0.html

I see no problem at all with marketing for FTC. The more people know about all digital alternative currencies, the better. I have not started mining yet (still waiting on ordered parts) but the whole reason I am here is because I first heard about BTC a year ago, and then over the last 6 months, there has been more and more press saturation . I had zero information or knowledge about digital currencies prior to the BTC ongoing news. Then after doing a little digging, discovered the exchanges and find out about LTC. And after a little more research finally found FTC. I am looking at this for the long haul- both mining and investing… and not for a quick financial gain. I see no reason digital currencies will not continue to be adopted as we move into the future- it makes too much sense not to succeed. There is no way of predicting which currencies will ultimately survive, but I feel confident that this concept is here to stay. And I do feel strongly about the “trickle down” current relationship between BTC/LTC/FTC and other currencies. (as overall transactions, mining difficulties, and coin values go up) For example, there has been more news lately that BTC is projected for increased acceptance by Wall St. investors. Even though that is specific to BTC, I think that can only be a good thing for all currencies in the long run. I think more people will continue to want to get involved at some level, and hopefully as adoption increases over time- more merchants will realize the benefits. So yes- any marketing can only help! :)

The facebook campaign should bring in a tonne of new buyers! Link is in ny signature :)
Stop that Facebook campaign immediately! FTC price was below 0.1 dollar ( down to as low as 0,06 dollars some periods of time ) just a month ago, now it’s 0.4 dollars, nothing fundamental has really changed in this market since then, the new buyers are effectively buying FTC’s at a 300% premium, and prices will fall, be so sure.
You are actively cheating people into a scam right now, and this will not be good for Feathercoin’s reputation when prices start to fall. Facebook campaigns should only be initiated when sanctioned by the community leaders of feathercoin.
You guys seem less concerned about the prospect of other people losing their hard-earned money so that you can make some quick bucks in a disgusting marketing pump & dump by hijacking the feathercoin brand. Just utterly disgusting.
How do you know that the price is going to collapse ??
I do not see anything wrong with somebody raising awareness of the currency, no matter what the current price is !
I do not know that the prices are going to collapse, however there are major signs that we’re entering bear territory. And besides, what times have you seen a currency or asset which’ve increased with 300-400% in value to just stay up there ( note we’re not talking about stocks, commodities and currencies go in cycles ), what comes up fast, goes down, maybe not to the same levels but it will go down.
This Facebook campaign should be sanctioned by the feathercoin communities’ leaders before launch if it’s gonna be under the banner of feathercoin community.
Clearly people will be angry if they buy into a coin which loads of people who bought earlier pumped with marketing only to see the value fall with over XX%, you would never try and pump anything to your neighbors in this way as you would have a mob outside your house if things turned sour.
You can do this when the prices have been stable for weeks, however it’s highly unethical to do it at the top of a potential bursting alt-coin-market bubble where the only real intention is to pump feathercoin up and rip-off people’s hard-earned money. Remember that much data is skewed by purpose to make it harder to gather historical data, the newcomers will believe the current FTC price is “normal”.
I would also suggest that those ‘neighbours’ of yours that you put off crypto currency with your negativity might be a bit miffed when in 1-2 years time those 30p coins are now trading at $5-10 !
As long as we have the site and forum ready in time, I agree. We just need to make sure we can handle the load.
+1 rep for using a real avatar with a solid profile, having the right attitude and also having a well written opinion.

Probably will FTC take a nose dive down, because there are no buyers a current levels. Campaigns are good, but get people and merchants involved by buying and selling. Investors are not needed as there are to many of them.
As for buying.
If you belive FTC are going to 5-10 or 100 USD, then it really don`t matter. Just buy. But risky investment.
If you can, I think the best thing for the network is to simply mine and help process transactions.
No merchant will accept a coin that takes hours to clear…
I’m not gonna sit around for 30mins to wait for my transaction to clear so I can drink my cuppa!
I think we’re ok there. Difficulty retargets REAL frequently to keep it at 2.5 minutes. Besides, there’s no need to wait for a confirmation assuming the transaction has appropriate miner fees.
-
True that… Forgot about the fee… Though I didn’t realise that difficulty re-target time assisted in keeping transactions fast.
(It’s what I think is the major barrier for retail acceptance of crypto’s. You need that transaction to clear within seconds or a few minuets)
