\[Solved\] Any P2Pool Experts around? \* yes, but should have been in Mining
-
I’m looking for any P2Pool experts who may be able to help me with some questions on the changes made by Andreas Faerber in his FTC P2Pool fork https://github.com/andreasfaerber/p2pool-feathercoin of forrestv’s P2Pool code https://github.com/forrestv/p2pool.
I’m trying to understand what the differences were that allowed it to work with FTC and see if I can replicate the differences to achieve something similar for PXC (I know, off topic material) but I’d really just like to get some insight into the code, something like answers to the following questions:
Is an additional entry for FTC (or PXC or …) all that is required in the networks.py file?
Are there any other changes that are required? I presume that the fact that Litecoin and Feathercoin are supported, the scrypt stuff is already there etc?
Any help on understanding this would be greatly appreciated.
Stefan

I’ll also “give Rep” for p2pool info, as no time to do that, and big fanboy…

I think Andreas Faerber is member Mr. Sheep, running pool.maeh.org.
You could give him a PM or contact home via:

Cheers of course, I’m on his p2pool for Feathercoin!
We also posted off topic, this should have been mining…

Woohoo! I’ve mined a block on my PXC P2Pool node.
Thanks Mr.Sheep for some pointers, it’s been a very interesting exercise.
If anyone wants to help me test further, feel free to point a miner (or 2) to my PXC P2Pool node to let me test payout proportions with different payout addresses. I believe it works but would like to test some further.
There’s a thread on the PXC forum https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/2222-appetite-for-a-pxc-p2pool-pool/
Won’t drag this off topic any more, thanks for the replies!
